As someone who only uses wireless charging I will say that I don’t care about what kind of port it is. Every once in while I’ve had to fast charge using the lighting port, but that was maybe 3 times in the past year.

should just remove it completely. no point in it.

sounds like a decent upgrade but i'd feel bad ditching my 12 pro max. it hasn't let me down yet. the battery health is at 89% so i could get another year out of it easily and probably another year after that if i paid apple to replace the battery.

i was set on buying the 15 Pro Max but might see if I can hold off until the 16 lol.
Haha! See, we know you’d secretly miss the mute button! Admit it! 😜

I leave mine permanently set on mute, but I am open to the idea that others toggle this with some frequency, e.g. people who aren't antisocial curmudgeons like me. 😅

Really not a fan of "solid state" buttons, but they're not a dealbreaker. Still, unless the 15 Pro Max offers something truly compelling, I'm still planning to hang on to my 12 Pro Max till the 16s arrive too.

Can't wait. The iPhone 14 Pro is the worst phone Apple has ever produced. It's a buggy disaster and I cannot wait to swap mine out.
What’s wrong with it because I know someone who has one and when I asked how he likes it, he said it’s great. Maybe your particular unit has issues. Did you return it for a new one? The only issues I read about were the camera issue which was resolved , battery life went down slightly and the normal software issues that you have expect in the first few weeks of a new model. Most have been apparently resolved. You can expect the same with the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

While the iPhone 15 series is still around six months away from launching, there have already been plenty of rumors about the devices. Many new features and changes have been rumored for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max in particular.

Below, we have recapped 10 changes rumored for iPhone 15 Pro models that are not expected to be available on the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus:
  • A17 chip: iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to be equipped with Apple's next-generation A17 Bionic chip, manufactured based on TSMC's 3nm process for continued performance and efficiency improvements. The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to have an A16 Bionic chip.
  • Titanium frame: Like the Apple Watch Ultra, the iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to have a titanium frame instead of stainless steel.
  • Ultra-thin curved bezels: Similar to recent Apple Watch models, the iPhone 15 Pro will have ultra-thin curved bezels around the display.
  • Faster USB-C port: iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a USB-C port with support for at least USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, which would result in the devices having significantly faster data transfer speeds with a cable compared to existing iPhones with Lightning. Kuo said the USB-C port on standard iPhone 15 models will remain limited to USB 2.0 speeds like Lightning.
  • Wi-Fi 6E: Like the latest Macs and iPad Pro, the iPhone 15 Pro will support Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless speeds, according to a leaked schematic.
  • Increased RAM: iPhone 15 Pro models will be equipped with an increased 8GB of RAM, according to Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, while the standard models will likely continue to have 6GB of RAM as they do currently. Additional RAM can allow apps like Safari to keep more content active in the background, preventing the app from reloading content when reopened.
  • Solid-state buttons: iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to feature solid-state buttons. Instead of physically moving, the buttons will provide haptic feedback from two additional Taptic Engines inside the iPhone to simulate the feeling of movement, similar to the Home button on the iPhone 7 or the Force Touch trackpad on modern MacBooks.
  • Mute button: iPhone 15 Pro models are rumored to be equipped with a mute button for turning the ringer on and off. All existing iPhones have a mute switch.
  • Increased optical zoom for iPhone 15 Pro Max: The iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a periscope telephoto lens, according to Kuo. This could result in the device having at least 6x optical zoom, compared to 3x on iPhone 14 Pro models.
  • Improved LiDAR Scanner: iPhone 15 Pro models will have a more power-efficient LiDAR Scanner supplied by Sony, which could improve 3D depth scanning performance for AR apps and Night mode photos, according to Kuo.
As the iPhone 15 series inches closer to launching, additional features will likely be rumored.

Que poor sales of 15 Pro if they differentiate the Max with a telescopic telephoto zoom 😡
Also for me, the 2 biggest problem areas with iPhones currently, are the camera bumps and heat dissipation.
Camera's have a bit of catching up to do and the battery needs to be much better than the 14 Pro's.
These are the areas most people care about most, I would suggest.
Samsung & Pixel Pro are in my opinion better now for photo's and Apple needs to knock it out of the park again, with the 15 Pro's

The 14 Pro is a beast. Very stable and great overall performance. The best iPhone that I ever had except for the camera setup. I liked the 11 pro camera lenses better. But I don’t care that much about photography. So no sweat.
What was better about the 11 Pro’s camera lenses? I only read that the 14 Pro can get a little too aggressive sometimes when it comes to sharpening low light photos.

Smart move, 16 will be a big design change

Upgrade cycle for consumers went from 1 year around the iPhone 3, to 2 years around iPhone 9, to three years now. The periscope lens may be a game changer, though.

I guess Apple wants the periscope lens to be a major selling point of the 16 Pro when that feature trickles down to it. The camera on 12 Pro Max was better than the camera on the 12 Pro as well so every few years Apple does this.

All of these things will be nice improvements, EXCEPT for the solid state buttons. The home button on the iPhone 7 was complete garbage, and bringing that back is a huge step backwards; unless Apple has made huge advancements with the technology. I'm not thrilled about the mute button either, but as I don't mute my phone that often, it's not a huge deal. We'll see how many people unknowingly mute or unmute their phones to see how that turns out. I keep having this thought of someone at a funeral, who thinks their phone is muted, but accidentally hits the button, and in the middle of it, their phone starts ringing some annoying song.
I had the iPhone 7 for 5 years, never once did I find the home button a problem.
If the solid state buttons are flush? I'm all for them.....silent button for me, although I use it daily, is not an issue, doubt many will accidentally press it, where it's located, for me, I wouldn't have a problem if they got rid of it completely

$1199 for 128GB and we think you’re going to love it!!!
I’m thinking the 128GB model will be dropped and the 256GB model will get a price increase to $1199 so you would be partially correct. The 128GB comes with video recording restrictions due to the low capacity so it would make sense that Apple stops selling a gimped model like that. Maybe a starting price of $899 for the 15 (256GB, no price increase).

Fantastic! Someone explain what I will be able to do with this that I can’t iPhone 13 Pro or 14 pro. They are really grasping a straws to get that £££ off people
Better photo's (especially on the telephoto lens) just an incremental upgrade on the 14Pro, a big upgrade on 13 Pro, however, for me, not big enough, will probably wait, until they do something with these huge camera bumps, which bug me even on the 13 Pro 😏
