I wonder how much lighter a titanium casing would be? As a mini user, the weight always been the biggest deterrent for me with the Pro line..
I suspect it will be similar weight to the 12 Pro,
The 2 biggest reasons I didn't reluctantly buy a mini, was the battery life and the lack of pro materials

If I had to guess, the switch to titanium alone won’t offer significant weight savings. What Apple will do is reduce the size/weight of the battery, given the more power efficient 3 nm chip will make up for the lower battery size with more efficiency. And the two things combined will make the 15 Pro’s feel noticeably lighter.

sounds like a decent upgrade but i'd feel bad ditching my 12 pro max. it hasn't let me down yet. the battery health is at 89% so i could get another year out of it easily and probably another year after that if i paid apple to replace the battery.

i was set on buying the 15 Pro Max but might see if I can hold off until the 16 lol.
My battery health is showing 85% so a battery replacement is probably in order. Otherwise, so far seeing little reason to switch still

Such a small amount of metal anyway would be negligible weight savings for sure

All of these things will be nice improvements, EXCEPT for the solid state buttons. The home button on the iPhone 7 was complete garbage, and bringing that back is a huge step backwards; unless Apple has made huge advancements with the technology. I'm not thrilled about the mute button either, but as I don't mute my phone that often, it's not a huge deal. We'll see how many people unknowingly mute or unmute their phones to see how that turns out. I keep having this thought of someone at a funeral, who thinks their phone is muted, but accidentally hits the button, and in the middle of it, their phone starts ringing some annoying song.
Still have 7+ and it feels just like button when the phone is on

If it weren’t for the crappy battery life/health I’ve been dealing with on my 13 Pro, I’d probably forgo this update. Hopefully the battery health will last longer with a new 15 Pro Max/Ultra or whatever it will be called.

The mute switch is something I predominantly have switched off. I worry about an accidental button press on the 15. Additionally, the solid-state volume button worries me more since I use the volume up + the side button presses for screenshots every day, all day. I know I can do a remote workaround to accomplish this, but that takes up time I don’t wish to spend.

Maybe it won’t be so bad, as we are aversive to change by nature, but I still don’t like it.

Everything else I’m good with, especially getting away from proprietary charging besides MFi options

Since 11PM the camera bump looks almost identical every year. Hope that they would change it this time.
I do miss macro mode in my 12PM but if the price gonna be too high for 15PM, I would be happy to change the battery and keep my 12PM for another year or two.

Better photo's (especially on the telephoto lens) just an incremental upgrade on the 14Pro, a big upgrade on 13 Pro, however, for me, not big enough, will probably wait, until they do something with these huge camera bumps, which bug me even on the 13 Pro 😏
The problem or should I say disappointment will be the periscope lens being exclusive to the 15 Pro Max so those who want the smaller Pro will have to wait until the 16 Pro next year.

They didn't stick out by half an inch 🤣 over exposure is it's biggest issue, not just in night time 😏
The over-aggressive photonic engine either needs some fine-tuning or perhaps the option to turn it off/down? Big camera updates for iPhones usually happen with major iOS releases so I guess iOS 17 will bring some improvements. There will probably be some camera issues initially with the 15 Pro, especially the 15 Pro Max with the periscope lens.

Accidentally dropped my iPhone 6S outside last night while taking mountain biking stuff in. After searching the house for ages while making it beep with Find My, I finally found it. Even though it has no IP rating it survived again! Only needs to survive about another 6 months and it's iPhone 15 Pro time for me... :)
Good luck and be careful

From all of this the only thing that looks interesting to me, is perhaps camera improvements.

Titanium sounds cool, but is it useful in some way? Maybe it'll be lighter and that would be nice.

USB-C with faster data transfer, I don't use wired data transfer so that's not helpful for me. This just means I have to buy more cables so mostly a negative. Maybe that's the push I need to completely ditch cables and go all MagSafe.

6E Wi-Fi, solid-state buttons, and more RAM... I don't have a 6E router and not sure how different buttons and more RAM are going to help.

What I would like to see is significant camera improvements. My 14 Pro Max has more difficulty focusing on closer objects then my 13 Pro Max did. Perhaps that's due to the first generation 48 megapixel sensor that will be improved? I don't know, but I would like to see improvements there.
