So I'm currently trying to set up my new iPhone 15 Pro and it is struggling to download all my apps on both wifi and cellular. I finally ran a speed test, and it showed I was only getting download speeds of 3.81 mbps on wifi and 23 mbps on LTE. On my 13 Pro I was getting 100+ mbps on wifi and 50+ mbps on LTE. I've tried both airplane mode and restarting the phone, both of which did nothing. The wifi icon constantly keeps disappearing from the status bar as well.

I never had any of these connectivity issues with my 13 Pro. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm beginning to think I got a lemon. :(

Not what you want to hear but if anything my 15 Pro has been the best iPhone for years in terms of cellular signal and home WiFi where before I only usually got 2 bars where as now I get full strength anywhere I go in the house.

I would try someone else’s WiFi to rule that out, and if it’s still the same return it.

The wifi router is definitely not the issue since I never experienced this with my 13 Pro. Not to mention I have multiple iPhones, iPads, computers, and smart home devices connected as well.

Quick update: I took the phone and placed it directly next to my router (Airport Extreme) and my speed increased dramatically and everything finally finished downloading. However, the wifi was still having trouble staying connected even when directly next to the router. :(

I would take it too Apple or exchange it. It is very early, but these are by far the best cellular and wifi speeds I have had on an iPhone yet.

Yeah, I'm going to see if there's a software update issued this week otherwise I will probably exchange it. My closest Apple store is 2.5 hours away though.

Reboot router if that doesn’t work completely reset it. If it still doesn’t work get a more modern router. If you’re using an AirPort Extreme that doesn’t have wireless AC get a new router.

I actually have a brand-new AmpliFi Alien Router that I purchased months ago but I've been lazy about setting it up. However, the AirPort Extreme I'm using is actually the 6th and final generation that supports AC.

Also, I just browsed the iPhone subreddit and found 10+ posts describing this same wifi issue. Most of the posts were from people with 15 Pro Max's though.

No issue here but are you using iCloud Private Relay or Limit IP Address Tracking on cellular and WiFi?
Neither.

Did you do the 17.0.2 update?
Yes, I was prompted to update to 17.0.2 during setup which downloaded quite slowly. I figured it was Apple's servers due to being launch weekend, but now I realize the 15 Pro's wifi is the issue.

Totally anecdotal, but I am in a mountain area at the moment, and I gained an extra bar, and quite a bit more speed from 14 Pro to 15 pro. WiFi it benchmarks same as my iPad M2 Pro.

Weird. We have two 15 Pro Max iPhones and both are performing really well on cellular and WiFi (AX, though, not AC.)

Mine has been terrible. 17.0.2 update upon setting up the phone and I have to hotspot off my wife’s phone just to get service. Both my cellular and WiFi is terrible.

So to compare signal strength 15pm and 13pm, both phones are without a case, both on newest iOS 17 and on the same carrier Verizon. With each device placed 1 at a time in the same spot my findings show that the 13pm gets about 3dbm stronger signal over the 15pm on band 66 20mhz channel. The 13pm had -112 and the 15pm was around -115. One thing I’ve noticed is the 15pm has yet to connect to band 13 vs the 13pm. So it’s possible that for that frequency range of what band 66 covers that the 15pm isn’t as sensitive with picking it up and maybe better on the other frequencies. I’ve seen threads and posts stating that other users are having more bars in mountainous areas vs a 14pm. Hopefully since this is a brand new device a few updates may help it pull a stronger signal vs previous devices, but it could also be from the change from stainless steel to titanium in the frame of the phone.

No issue here. This is on an eero 6e network. Maybe you have a faulty unit: return and replace.

I do not have any issues on cellular and WiFi. You may want to consult with Apple Technical Support. Wish the best!

I have to say my experience is 100% the opposite of OP. My 15 Pro max has WAY better reception. Where I was barely getting 1mbps down at my home on T-Mobile, I now get 60-130mbps. It seems the new phone is able to grab onto T-Mobile's UC bands.

The wifi is unchanged. I only have wifi 5 at home currently as I have not upgraded my Ubiquiti network yet.

What was your previous phone?
