There’s definitely something wrong with connections to 5ghz networks. Both of our phones are having an issue where WIFI shows full bars but there is no connection. If I switch over to my 2.4ghz network everything is fine in the same spot (albeit lower speeds). iOS 17.0.3 did not fix it.

Agree same issue. Iphone 15 pro max is the only device in my house that has trouble connecting to wifi. Luckily cellular data is fine and I have unlimited plan but still annoying not to be able to be on home wifi.

Connection is spotty, & frequently fails. When it works it works great but incredibly inconsistent. Restarting the router usually works for a little bit but then it goes back to being spotty after a few minutes.

Same here. When I get home from work, it doesn’t connect to the 5Ghz wifi at home. It only connects when I toggle wifi off and then on again in settings.

Yep, I’m having same wifi problems with 15 pro. I upgraded from a 12 pro and my 15 pro won’t connect to the back of my house anymore. Constantly dropping out. It’s a brand new ASUS router only a year old and It’s not a very big house, around 1600 sq ft. 12 pro had no problems at all.

Very frustrating, you’d think it would work better 3 iterations later… So I really hope it’s just a software bug or something and not physical.

I don’t have any issues with WiFi, it is the same as my previous 13pm, however the cellular data drops so easily.

Is there a root cause for this?

oneplus one gen 2 in two years and adios, apple.
it’s been a joke after the X series.

BTW, looks like the 15P & 15PM are getting cellular radio firmware updates in iOS 17.1.

The beta has not helped any of the people who have had cellular reception issues at this time . Hopefully we get a new beta this week.

Yes, Apple made an error somewhere. For now I have found that turning off the 160 MHz channel on the 5G network on the WiFi router helps.
My router does not broadcast at 160MHz so that's not the sole reason for the issues. We also don't use a VPN so VPN is also not the main cause either. Something else is going on with the devices in the background.

I hope this is the case. My cell signal is still odd compared to my 13 Pro. I rarely see my phone on 5GUW and often only have 1 bar of LTE. My phone still seems to work normally though and doesn't ever lose signal completely.

Cellular data speed has improved on my 15PM. Also iPad is in the same spot, bigger device, larger antennae, same poor speeds. I don’t get it. Still drops on the iPhone only, more rarely, i admit. Not the iPad. I think in my case it’s a combination of poor coverage and some ill tuned software. I also think I’m at the very margin of the coverage of the mast which is unlucky.
in other parts of the city I get +200Mbps in the uk mind you, that’s like seeing Jesus walking down the street.

I’ve had no (noticeable) problems. To satisfy curiosity, I did some testing utilizing OpenSignal.

Wi-Fi : Verizon 5G Home Internet (advertised up to 300Mbps download and 30Mbps upload)
— And, yes, it is connected to 5GHz 802.ax

Cellular : Mint Mobile (a T-Mobile MVNO) — testing performed late evening in an attempt to prevent network congestion as a factor.

Averages:

Download: 347.1 Mbps
Upload: 57.2 Mbps
Latency: 37 ms

My iPhone X on Mint — similar locations as iPhone 15, though performed during early/earlier weekend morning

Averages:

Download: 56.6 Mbps
Upload: 15.1 Mbps
Latency: 57 ms

P.S. I intended to have 10 sample locations, however, (wow!) speed tests can use a lot of data, sometimes more than 500MB per test. I even waited a couple of days for my monthly data allotment to reset, splitting up the iPhone 15 testing.
P.P.S. iPhones were on the latest iOS, not beta version.

After a few more field testing and a few software updates ( latest being tonight ) I can conclude the phone is perfectly fine. It’s just the stupid coverage which is making the device dropping the cellular data. Obviously I won’t move house because of that. But thank goodness it’s fine. I got speeds in metal enclosures ie supermarkets which are amazing for daily use ie 140Mbps.

So, no more stress.

Also, let’s go OnePlus Open with a few more iterations, Samsung and the rest will have to up their game or be left behind.

Apple is too afraid to change anything in the money making device worldwide so they will prolly come up with a fold when it’s too late.
