Found this thread after googling why my 15 pro max has more cellular signal than my 14 pro max and i'm sad to see some of you are experiencing the opposite

I have to say my experience is 100% the opposite of OP. My 15 Pro max has WAY better reception. Where I was barely getting 1mbps down at my home on T-Mobile, I now get 60-130mbps. It seems the new phone is able to grab onto T-Mobile's UC bands.

The wifi is unchanged. I only have wifi 5 at home currently as I have not upgraded my Ubiquiti network yet.
I‘ve noticed much better 5G performance in congested areas on T-Mobile using my 15 Pro compared to my 13 Pro.

I have been able to increase Apple Music quality over cellular on my 15 Pro without getting delays when skipping. On my 13 Pro there was a specific part of town that on the lowest quality setting my music would buffer during playback and take forever to start if I skipped.

This is what I wanted to hear!!

I also am currently using as 12 Pm and ordered a 15 PM. I recently switched from ATT to T-Mobile to take advantage of iPhone offers.

I was a little discouraged to see at work mow only get 1 bar of cellular service (switches all day between 5g and LTE).

Can’t wait to see if the 15 PM does better at my job. There is hope it sounds like!

So I'm currently trying to set up my new iPhone 15 Pro and it is struggling to download all my apps on both wifi and cellular. I finally ran a speed test, and it showed I was only getting download speeds of 3.81 mbps on wifi and 23 mbps on LTE. On my 13 Pro I was getting 100+ mbps on wifi and 50+ mbps on LTE. I've tried both airplane mode and restarting the phone, both of which did nothing. The wifi icon constantly keeps disappearing from the status bar as well.

I never had any of these connectivity issues with my 13 Pro. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm beginning to think I got a lemon. :(
You're not going crazy. I had some very strange issues with connectivity. That, added to the activation bug, angrified me to no end. I have gigabit service at home and my other devices were fine through the whole thing. Restarting and then unplugging the router did nothing. I was seriously considering just returning the thing and being done with it. My connectivity issues resolved themselves yesterday without any action from me.

You changed nothing and your WIFI connection is working as expected now? I'm hoping there's some software bug right now. My 5ghz connection is hit or miss and doesn't seem to transition between router and extender smoothly. It will show connected to WIFI in the corner but have no connection in apps, etc.

Curious to know which phone you upgraded from? I have a 13 pro max and tmobile and my reception at home is abysmal. If i had that much of a cellular improvement at home it would be more than worth the upgrade for me

Just got in touch with apple and they ran test on my phone and confirmed cellular connectivity issues and are express replacing me a new phone. If you don't have apple care plus it cost $30 free with applecare plus. Hope that info helps someone. This cellular chip performs worse with low connection.

Quick Update: I finally changed out my router tonight. I began noticing some of my other devices were also having connection issues and realized my AirPort Extreme was also running quite warm constantly. I think it was slowly reaching it's end of life.

After installing the Amplifi Alien, my connection now seems to be stable along with my speeds and signal increasing drastically. I now get almost 300mbps instead of 100mbps with my old Airport Extreme.

However, my cell service still doesn't seem as strong. I feel like I used to get more bars in certain places, and my 15 Pro does not seem to utilize 5GUW as frequently as my 13 Pro did.

Just got my 15 PM delivered tonight and set up.

Hmm..closer to my ATT gateway/router (8 feet), the 15 PM got 800 mpbs down, whereas my 12 PM got 550 down on wifi.

Farther away, in our bedroom (probably 25 feet or so), the 12 PM was consistently getting better speeds by about 50-100 mbps on wifi.

*Do you guys think cases (specifically the one I'm using now, "leather" Mous Limitless 5.0) can block wifi/cellular signal? At first I was thinking it was much slower when I had the case on, but it was hard to tell as wifi speeds were all over the place and not consistent (no one else was using wifi at the time).

I'm also having wifi issues on a 15PM. I'm using a comcast XB8 and the phone has low speed or no connection in areas my 14PM was just fine (never once had a wifi issue with it) just days ago. When I actively disable and re-enable wifi while very close to the router the phone will connect to 6E and the speeds are what I'd expect (~160MB/s) but if the phone goes to sleep on my desk ~5 feet away from my router (or anywhere else in the apartment), when I wake it apps like youtube/safari will fail to load and the wifi details show "this network has no internet connection." I have an M2 ipad pro on the same network that does not have the same issue.

The channel bandwidth is set to 20/40/80 (comcast doesn't let you change this), so it doesn't seem to be the 160mhz issue that someone speculated about.

My wifi is working as expected now. I have 0 explanation.

I am having weird signal issues with my 15PM too. I play Pokémon go with two phones always, connecting the other phone with my personal hotspot. My 14PM never gave me an issue and now my 15PM is giving my other one less than .5MB download leaving it useless. So there’s something up with this phone. I’m thinking it can’t connect to 3G seeing my hotspot is limited to a 3G speed

I've noticed that at range I can have my 15PM and my old iphone 12 sat side by side and the 12 picks up stronger wifi signal than the 15PM. In fact quite often the 15PM will not pick up any wifi signal at all at range particularly for the 5ghz network where as the 12 will sit there with 2 bars of wifi connectivity.

Is this a common thing or do I have a defective unit?

Assuming you are restoring from a backup, did you have any VPN configured on your old phone?

I found my Nord VPN config was causing issues when transferred to my 15 Pro Max, causing slow speeds and constant disconnects. Deleted the Nord App and everything starting working fine.

That's what I saw with mine also and it acted the same way with cellular signal also

My WiFi experience is unchanged but my cellular reception is noticeably much worse compared to my 14PM and my wife’s 13PM.
