I thought my 14maxpro camera was so bad I asked for it to be replaced.Yep and I thought the 12 Pro Max was already bad focusing up close. The other day I had to verify my ID with one of those verification apps and I could not do it with it because the camera simply could not focus on the text of my ID. I had to pull out my old 7 Plus to get it verified
Is that true? It would be great if you could disable HDR with photos, something you can do with the 12 Pro.It's mostly been fixed in IOS 17
The post processing is being nerfed on iOS 17 I guarantee you that, either way I do recommend you use ProRaw so it allow post processing and 48mp photos togetherI thought my 14maxpro camera was so bad I asked for it to be replaced.
2 months later - I thought my 14maxpro camera was so bad I started using my wife's 13 pro to take pictures on vacations and at events
6 months later - doesn't sound like the camera on the 15pro will be any better
It was a massive difference from 12 pro to 13 pro, however if he doesn't see it, it simply means he has no need to upgrade 😊Weird I saw a massive improvement going from a 12PM to a 14PM
Great Photos on 13 Pro, much better than 12 Pro, my friend has a 14 pro, it's not as good for photos as it should be, sadlyI use my wife's 13pro over my 14pro when taking vacation picts.
Check out the guide posted by MacRumors and 9to5mac. It should work with iPhone 14 Pro Max too.plausible
I am using a 14 Pro Max, what is macro?

To be fair it quickly becomes a slippery slope, as you could wait for eternity, as the next model will probably be better than the previous one.My IPhone renewal cycle (every other year) looks forward buying the 15Pro (maybe max?!), but all these rumors make me feel like I should better wait for the iPhone 16… 🙄
Possibility: Plastic lens mean lower mass means faster to move when focusing. And optical plastic is very good now.Sales are slumping and there needs to more revenue coming from services. So this seems to a plausible strategy.
Better depth of field? How do you sell an aperture downgrade?
I imagine that it is a big upgrade from my 12 and my spouse’s XR. If you have a 14 you are not looking for an upgrade. So the takeaway is it won't be significantly different from prior iphone besides the increase in price. You need to buy this. There's people to impress.

I saw that good article. There are loads of reports on the web saying its not true sapphire, and believe me if it was it would cost a lot more, my Tag is 23 years old without a scratch or needing a firmware update, but Apple love to distort the truth and that erks me a bit, yes I agree its hard enough for most people, but I have seen a few with scratches where the lens protrude so far out now they seem more prone to getting scratched by detritus on tables etc, let alone down the beach where sand can enter pockets and almost everywhere.I read up and found this. It's old but prolly still relevant.

Yes, the iPhone 7 lenses really are sapphire
There’s a YouTube video going around, showing tests conducted on the sapphire lens of iPhone 7, that’s raised some internet controversy about whether or not the lens is actually sapphire. Here’s whatwww.imore.com
In any case it's generally hard enough for most users. People who are that hard on their stuff are going to break something at some point.
It’s about the inside lenses, not the glass on the outside.Plastic lenses sound like they'd scratch really badly
not sure why you can’t see a difference, the image isn’t being overprocessed like before. What’s in the view finder is pretty much what the image produces. Zollotech showed some examples side by side and the improvements. The terrible oversharpening has gone from my testing. Granted it’s not perfect in all areas but photos are now good enough.I haven’t seen any evidence of this, I keep hearing this claim but the pics on my phone are just as bad as iOS 16. Where’s the side by side review that actually shows a difference because I don’t notice anything.
I always thought it a pity they used the more scratch-able composite sapphire. Especially when I was living next to the beach...Except the lens cover isn't real real Saphire as on my Tag Heur, its actually a sapphire composite material, which is not as hard as pure sapphire. Plastic sounds cheap and not that great for some reason. the 16 seems to be the phone to get, I'm happy with my 14 Pro. I'm in no hurry to spend money on iPhones for the sake of spending money on iPhones for very minor updates, just my take.

my 14 pro max came last in my blind camera comparisons on twitter but so far in iOS 17 beta it’s beating my pixel which it wouldn’t have done before.
I don’t have a spare 14 pro but I can clearly see the differences from past photos I’ve took in iOS 16. Photos of my cats aren’t over sharpened and aren’t over processed like before. Exposure does increase which isn’t a good thing and is the only differences in post processing.Lots of of claims still waiting for an example, I don’t have another 14 pro to test this out, you’d think by now someone would have done so and shown us all some pixel peeped images. I saw the images in z’s video and you couldn’t see a thing, the pics were all different and little YouTube thumbnails.
We need one of the photography channels to do a proper review. I took some shots today and they looked terribly over sharpened still and hdr on blast. The only time I felt any improvement was a night shot I snapped real quick a few days ago, but it was just one shot so not sure.
