Apple today shared a new ad that highlights a key advantage that iPhone 16 models have over Android smartphones: the Ceramic Shield.

Apple says the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max displays are all protected by the latest-generation Ceramic Shield material, which is advertised as being "2x tougher than glass on any other smartphone."

In the new "Trust Issues" ad, a father hands his iPhone to a stranger and asks them to take a photo of his family at a carnival. Unfortunately, the stranger drops the iPhone, leading to a moment of suspense given the device might have been damaged. However, the display glass remains intact due to the Ceramic Shield.

"Relax, it's iPhone 16," the video description concludes.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

Apple introduced the Ceramic Shield on all iPhone 12 models, and it has continued to improve the glass-ceramic material's formulation over the years.

I still have lots of little scratches all on my 16pro screen, but I also keep keys and other stuff in the same pocket, so not surprised. It does seem like its less noticeable scratching than on what I had on my 15pro. I am more surprised I haven't cracked any of the glass from multiple getting out of the car drops on concrete, and bathroom tile contacts. Im assuming the the titanium housing is helping. My 15pro cracked the back falling on a wooden deck somehow.....
All naked phones for lyfe

Speaking of 'trust issues'

Mine fell out of my pocket when closing the car door.
The back cracked, the front cracked, and it bent... but it still works. 🤷‍♂️

These ads are so deceptive and provide nothing but misinformation just like the Apple AI ads, which also didn't deliver. Apple has gone from a company of great ads and advancements to a company of small claims and missed deliverables. What a great company indeed. I wish Jobs were still alive and also that Cookie would get fired or retire. No one in my house wants to buy into the Apple buzz anymore. Even considering new android devices this summer as the 17pro is just a cheapened version of the 16 pro with aluminum and a bigger, uglier camera bump.

Android and Windows are waiting for you. Freedom of choice. Also free to choose pain, which those platforms will bring in plentiful. 🤗
