I’ve owned 2 iPhones so far. A 6 and the 16e. With both I put them in a case and put a screen protector on. Before activating with a carrier. Strangers? I don’t even let friends use my phone.

Ceramic Shield is a joke!! Within 1 day of owning my Pro Max on launch day, Just putting in my pocket with no keys, etc it started getting micro scratches. The glass they use has always been weak when it comes to ease of scratches

UAG and I can endure everything. If you saw how my child, literally twice did the same IP 13 phone, she jumped up, showing how she threw a goal in handball, the phone fell on the beech ankle, very hard, nothing (fell out of the jacket pocket). Two weeks later, the same action and nothing. Recently, the Lighting port has developed, they have replaced it for a new IP under warranty. The fact that the backup didn't fit is another weld 🤯 . That's why my IP 16 Max also has this housing.

These ads are so deceptive and provide nothing but misinformation just like the Apple AI ads, which also didn't deliver. Apple has gone from a company of great ads and advancements to a company of small claims and missed deliverables. What a great company indeed. I wish Jobs were still alive and also that Cookie would get fired or retire. No one in my house wants to buy into the Apple buzz anymore. Even considering new android devices this summer as the 17pro is just a cheapened version of the 16 pro with aluminum and a bigger, uglier camera bump.
blah blah blah. your script sounds like an old bot. we want new material.

If this is a photo from a test, you should provide a link to the test. Otherwise it’s a random photo that doesn’t prove anything.
Let me ask Siri for the source, oh wait...

but in all seriousness it's from PhoneBuff YouTube channel.

I’ve never broken or shattered the glass on my iPhone. But I think I’m just extra careful

It's crazy because this 16 Pro Max is the most scratched screen I've ever had. Only from being in a bag at the beach one day, there are scratches EVERYWHERE, deep ones and I am pretty careful overall with my phone. It wasn't just chilling in the bag and going places, I mostly just held it.

Dropping a phone seems like absolute luck of the draw in my personal experience. I haven’t gone caseless since the iPhone 4S. I once dropped my caseless iPhone 4 from about 6ft high onto pavement and it survived with a slight scuff on the corner of the metal outside, my roommate had a caseless iPhone 4 too, it managed to vibrate off of his bedside table from his morning alarm, fell 3ft onto linoleum and the back completely shattered.

Now introducing the Tough iPhone 18, with integrated case. 📱🪟 🔨💪

Been using my iPhone 14 Pro since they first came out in September of 2022 with no case, no screen protector, carry it in my back pocket. Not a scratch anywhere. Have dropped it dozens of times on all sorts of surfaces.

I use Speck Presidio case to protect my iphone for 10+ years. I throw this thing on the wall for fun. Will last 4 years easy. Never had a cracked screen.

They’ve said this every year, using tough sounding adjectives, and I used to believe them.

But I always managed to get hairline scratches even when babying my phone.

Never dropping it, carefully putting in pocket by itself, etc.

So now I just put on a tempered glass screen protector and stop worrying about it.

All the ad has kind of explained to me is that the 16 is a slippery phone (which it 100% is).
I noticed that hella expensive silicone case is extremely grippy. Without it, I always feel like my naked 16 could slip from my fingers when I pick it up but with the case, it’s not even a concern when I grab or hold my phone.

It's not about concrete or wooden floor. Modern phone glass cover can likely endure high drop , but not those tiny sand/dirt/stone between the glass and floor. Sand on the tabletop/floor/pocket is the reason of scratch and crack.

Also, aluminum frame would easily deformed from that high drop, leave a dent on the corner.
