Apple plans to begin accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max on Friday, September 13 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time, or 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time. A launch is set to follow on Friday, September 20.

Pricing on the iPhone 16 starts at $799, while the iPhone 16 Plus starts at $899. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,199. These are all the same prices as the iPhone 15 lineup.

The iPhone 16 models have a dual-lens camera, A18 chip, Action Button, and Camera Control button, while the iPhone 16 Pro models have the same Camera Control button along with a triple-lens camera that has an upgraded 48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens, and a new A18 Pro chip. The Pro models are also equipped with larger 6.3 and 6.9-inch displays.

While Apple won't begin accepting pre-orders for new iPhone models until Friday, the new Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods 4 models can be pre-ordered starting today.

Ok but who want this piece of crap?
16 Pro = 15 Pro with a capture button and 5x zoom instead of 3x. 128GB base. What a joke!

Given that Apple was highlighting improvements over the 12 series, I'm gonna guess they aren't targeting 15 Pro owners with these.

This always seems to shock people but the vast majority of people do not upgrade yearly.

Out of interest I checked what my £1199 15 pro max would be worth on apple trade in. £570… less than half its value in a year. Has it really depreciated that much, Apple? Jokers
Through Verizon it would cost me 2.88 a month from my 15 pro and I’m still not interested. Bad year for Apple all the way around.

I know that thank you it’s just to highlight the fact that it’s a better choice to buy a discounted 15 pro

I am not a yearly adopter so, it's obvious for me to wait until 17. But, with this pace Apple upgrading iPhones, I can wait for iPhone 18 or even 19. I do hope that Apple will change their camera positions by then. I don't want my next iPhone to look just like iPhone 11 Pro.

I'll take a 5x telephoto over a 3x for my uses any day. But My current phone has no telephoto, so anything is an upgrade.

That weird new button is giving me flashbacks to the MBP touchbar - weird tiny functionality in search of a solution. Perhaps it will prove out in time. I can wait to see what people actually say after using it for a few months.

Coming from the 12 Pro I currently have, I certainly want it. Sure, it's only an incremental increase from 15 Pro, but it's still a little more future-proof than the 15 Pro. So if both 15 Pro and 16 Pro were available Friday, I'd still go with 16 Pro.

Up to $1000 trade

goes in website and it says $650 for my 15 pro Max

what BS

Yeah, it isn't the first time they do this. In order to get the full credit you may have to do the exchange with a carrier and get bill credits 🙃 I think joining the iPhone Upgrade Program may be the best option in case you want to upgrade after a year since it is the same monthly payment for the 15 or 16 and you still keep the device if you don't plan to upgrade after a year.
