When you're part of the iPhone Upgrade Program, you'll find that these updates are much less disappointing 🤣🤣🤣
I am part of it, still not even sure if I am going to upgrade this year. Might keep the 15PM then I will own it in a year to sell.

Up to $1000 trade

goes in website and it says $650 for my 15 pro Max

what BS
The up to $1,000 trade in is through bill credits from a carrier (AT&T, Boost Mobile, T-Mobile, and Verizon). That's the fine print Tim Cook didn't bother to mention.

Here's the AT&T $1,000 trade in offer

How to Get this Deal
  • Trade in an eligible smartphone.
  • Select AT&T Installment Plans as your monthly payment option — available to new and existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade or add a line.
  • Before you check out at Apple, we’ll confirm your eligibility with AT&T.
  • Activate with an eligible AT&T rate plan.

With Verizon and T-Mobile, you're getting $640 from Apple and the rest in bill credits...

I noticed that when preparing for preorder I can only put in one credit card instead of the usual 2 to split payments, is that normal and will it change on preorder day so i can use 2 cards?

Apple made it easy to hold onto my launch day 15 Pro Max. I am a yearly upgrader since the “Max” series started with the XS. Just nothing here for me on this one though. 🤷‍♂️ Still getting AI and current phone has 8GB ram as well.

Wait until you see it’s £570 worth of GIFT CARDS 🥲
Not true. They charge you the full value of the new phone and then refund the trade in amount, back to the original payment method. So unless you’re using gift cards to pay initially, the £570 will be refunded to the card used.

When you're upgrading from an Xr, you'll find that this update is much less disappointing 🤣🤣🤣
Well... I'll actually be updating from an iPhone X, so to me it'll be a big upgrade.

The only reason I'm getting a new phone is because my FaceID and touch display stopped working properly and the battery is not doing well either. It served me well and I think the longevity of iPhones is a sustainability plus.

Unless you are that professional that needs the advertised features, upgrading yearly is something a person who doesn't care about the environment does and also a waste of money.

I'm still somewhat a bit disappointed in that the iPhone 16 Pro Max only has 8GB of RAM, which will be an issue for future Apple Intelligence features. It's built in obsolescence from the get go.

Also, 256GB base storage is a joke. My iPhone X has that and I'll be going for the 512GB mid tier Pro Max.

So in regards to RAM and storage I would have expected way more by now.

If you don’t buy a product right away they’ll give gift cards

I've got my pre-preorder ordered for my iPhone Upgrade Program: iPhone 16 Pro 256GB Natural Titanium

Now I just need to wake up at 7am and click a button. I still don't know why we have to play these games. I get a new one every year. Apple should just send me a message that opens the store app to ask me which one I want and then it just works and my iPhone shows up on launch day.

This is the most exciting phone update since the X. Maybe not from the 15 Pro, but from anything older, it adds a lot. I was going to wait until next year to upgrade my 13 Pro, but am strongly considering upgrading this year. I’ll see what trade-in deals there are.

These only look good if trading in oldest model to get full credit and plan on keeping at least 2 years, probably 3.

Probably downsizing from 15 Pro Max to regular 16 in Ultramarine. Tired of big phones with features I’m not using.
Last year I wanted to upgrade my iPhone 13 Pro to the 15 Pro but then I saw that it didn't come with the 5x telephoto lens zoom so I was disappointed. I am happy to see that both models are the same this year. I am tired of Apple bringing more features to the Pro Max model knowing that I don't like big smartphones.

Out of interest I checked what my £1199 15 pro max would be worth on apple trade in. £570… less than half its value in a year. Has it really depreciated that much, Apple? Jokers

Oh, but Apple says they keep their value so well! Up to $800 trade-in!

...On the absolute maxed out model which costs well over twice that much. Which is barely enough to almost afford the base, non pro model.

Given that Apple was highlighting improvements over the 12 series, I'm gonna guess they aren't targeting 15 Pro owners with these.

This always seems to shock people but the vast majority of people do not upgrade yearly.

Their on-screen displays showed me that my 13 Pro is safe for at least another two years.

Really disappointed that I'm not getting any improvements to Siri. I don't care about any of the generative stuff.

Now I kind of want to wait for the 16 Pro which hopefully has no hole punch camera.

I have been upgrading yearly the last few years but I think I'm going to hang onto my 15 Pro another year and go for the 17 Slim.
