The only reason for the 48 UW is because the main lense is so ****** that you have to go back 5 meters or the UW will be used. Telephoto 12mp still is so goddamn lame

Looks I'll be good enough with the 15 Pro Max then unless new hardware specific AI features pull me in...

I would like the selfie cam to get some love. Too many of my memories use the front facing camera to grab a quick selfie at dinner or in the park.

Not just unnecessary. Actively WORSE.

The physical mute switch is a FAR more useful feature. It's a PHONE, not a camera. There's no need whatsoever for it to have a dedicated "take photo" button. Did you know you can use the volume up button as a take picture button if you want? You can.
Few people are still using the iPhone primarily as a phone (dialing numbers and talking to people all day). When you think about it, it’s funny that the name hasn’t changed yet, to something like iSlate.

I don’t want a button for every function, but have experienced the need to snap a quick photo and missed the shot due to fumbling with activating the camera while in a hurry too many of times to count.

Easily swappable battery? Nope. Government is going to have to force them.
Normal software installation? Nope. Government is going to have to force them.
Home button? Nope.
Courage to put back the headphone jack? Nope.
Stupid ugly pill cutout? Still there.

But camera crap that we don't need? That's what Apple considers 'innovation' these days.

I agree with all points, minus the headphone jack. That ship is done, for everyone. It’s not that big of an inconvenience anymore.

Camera improvements on the iPhone are UTTERLY IRRELEVANT, when they continue to insist of insane over-processing of said images. Over-contrasting, over-sharpening/clarity, unnatural HDR (especially on video and ESPECIALLY when filming something that has a block colour. Everything just turns into some weird grey shade in that instance).

The cameras themselves have been excellent for the past 5/6 years, the resultant images however, have not.

Just because you want those "issues" fixed, doesn't mean the general public does.

Most people want "camera crap" versus a swappable battery or the return of a headphone jack. That's what Apple is targeting.

Very different functionality, the capture button kinda like mirrors what the shutter button on a dedicated camera does

My point is you don't need to touch the screen as you said.

My DSLR has tap to focus on the shutter button. I assume Apple will have the same?

Unless you're a photographer. I welcome all improvements.

The good news is you don't have to purchase it.

I've got a DSLR, and I'm not even a professional photographer.

And you absolutely DO have to purchase the stupid camera crap in an iPhone if you want a big screen. The SE has more than enough camera for a phone, I'd have one if they made a SE+. As far as that goes, the 5 had plenty of camera for a phone, and no idiotic camera bulge. I'd like THAT innovation back.

Why not purchase a superior phone that meets your needs/requirements? And find happiness.

If I was that unhappy I certainly would. In an instant. But... being stoked with my 15PM, and pleased with their outstanding cameras (pretty much the only camera I use today), I'll stay with iPhones going forward.

I wonder how sliding the camera button will work with cases…I’m not a fan of cutouts 😕

You hit it!

NEW ACCESSORY SALES!
Probably with some required MFI licensing to boot!

What software processing is that? I shoot in RAW and process in Lightroom, and have no complaints.
RAW files on iPhone have unecessarily HUGE file size, but also still have some processing baked in. All that post-processing should be removed and only added with you do the 'auto' enhance button (which I'm pretty sure always used to be the case years ago).

I've got dSLRs too. And an Arca-Swiss 4x5. For everyday photo making I still prefer my iPhone 15 PM. And may get a 16, when it comes out (depending on features).

No IPX903 main lens sensor on the 16 Pro models?

I'm only using high resolution 48 MP ProRAW on my 14 Pro for fine crisp detail that I couldn't capture on the 15 Pro, although on the paper it has the same specs.

Again... *if* there is some processing, it doesn't interfere with my post-processing in Lightroom. Results are what count.

I absolutely GUARANTEE you the general public would prefer being able to quickly change their battery or plug in wired headphones than have slightly better pictures from their phones.

The general public is good with a quick selfie or snapshot. They want small pics that they can quickly send to their friends. They do not care at all about trying to pretend their phone is a professional camera.
