Very different functionality, the capture button kinda like mirrors what the shutter button on a dedicated camera doesYou have been able to use the volume button to snap photos since, well forever.

Or one time purchase 😉Appreciate the thought, however I don't want to use a third party Camera app, especially one that is a subscription app

Few people are still using the iPhone primarily as a phone (dialing numbers and talking to people all day). When you think about it, it’s funny that the name hasn’t changed yet, to something like iSlate. Not just unnecessary. Actively WORSE.
The physical mute switch is a FAR more useful feature. It's a PHONE, not a camera. There's no need whatsoever for it to have a dedicated "take photo" button. Did you know you can use the volume up button as a take picture button if you want? You can.
Bought it for 70 bucks here and I don’t regret it!$60 is way too much for a Camera App (to me)
Easily swappable battery? Nope. Government is going to have to force them.
Normal software installation? Nope. Government is going to have to force them.
Home button? Nope.
Courage to put back the headphone jack? Nope.
Stupid ugly pill cutout? Still there.
But camera crap that we don't need? That's what Apple considers 'innovation' these days.

Just because you want those "issues" fixed, doesn't mean the general public does.Easily swappable battery? Nope. Government is going to have to force them.

Unless you're a photographer. I welcome all improvements.
The good news is you don't have to purchase it.
Rumors say yes !My point is you don't need to touch the screen as you said.
My DSLR has tap to focus on the shutter button. I assume Apple will have the same?

I wonder how sliding the camera button will work with cases…I’m not a fan of cutouts 😕
RAW files on iPhone have unecessarily HUGE file size, but also still have some processing baked in. All that post-processing should be removed and only added with you do the 'auto' enhance button (which I'm pretty sure always used to be the case years ago). What software processing is that? I shoot in RAW and process in Lightroom, and have no complaints.
I've got a DSLR, and I'm not even a professional photographer.
And you absolutely DO have to purchase the stupid camera crap in an iPhone if you want a big screen. The SE has more than enough camera for a phone, I'd have one if they made a SE+. As far as that goes, the 5 had plenty of camera for a phone, and no idiotic camera bulge. I'd like THAT innovation back.

I absolutely GUARANTEE you the general public would prefer being able to quickly change their battery or plug in wired headphones than have slightly better pictures from their phones.Just because you want those "issues" fixed, doesn't mean the general public does.
Most people want "camera crap" versus a swappable battery or the return of a headphone jack. That's what Apple is targeting.
