Hello! I've been on 16 at max for three days, and the battery is melting pretty fast. Today for example at 6am it was at 80% and now it's 10am and it's already at 57%. Yesterday it was the same and at 1.30pm it was 36%. My previous phone 14 at max which had 88% battery health, 36% was enough at least after 3pm. Usage is the same as the old phone. Is there another problem like this?

If you go to ‘Battery’ does it say that it is still doing background processes? Mine had that message for about 30 hours; battery life has improved since then.

Sounds borked, man, unless there’s a third party app doing something crazy in the background. What does the ‘battery usage by app’ say?

it shows. they fell only 2% overnight. and yesterday night they dropped 4%, it is not used during this time and it is normal that it does not drop much. But as soon as you use it, it falls quickly.

How can you tell after 3 days if the battery is good or not good? In the first few days all the background processing is going on which drains the battery a lot. So I would say that you wait at least a week until you make your final judgement about the battery performance.

I thought so too, but I read opinions, how much it lasted other people. And we have all released it since September 20. Just looking to see if anyone else has rates like this.

Can someone say how much screen on time you get with pro max 16 , and generaly how long battery lasts

I had amazing 15h battery life on Saturday, however today. In just 2hours I’ve dropped 11%. No difference in usage. Really not quite sure what’s going on in the background to cause that.

after 2 hours of using phone , you have 11% less battery?
Is that 2 hr of screen on time?

so i am on iOS 18.1 beta so take that into consideration. Battery life is better than my 15pro max. a ton better? No but its better. I am a power user on the phone so I can't get through the day with out a charge. Phone still runs hot but not as hot as my ip15pm so tends to charge quicker. I would say I get about 6 hours which gets me to 35/40% then another few hours before it gets to 10%. I am going to give it a month to fully index and settle down from the restore. I have over 800 gigs on my phone so it takes a while.

Yes. But Saturday had the identical use time. It’s now at 84%.
Tnx for answer man it means a lot to me because i am on 15 pro max , 1TB , and considering to give 15 pro max to my wife , and take 16 pro max for me …..
But , that is only if SOT is at leats 2hrs better than this ons

I guess it could still be indexing. That’s the only thing I can think of that would reasonably be going on in the background.

Indexing can take days to weeks; I find it takes a week for the battery to stabilize, depending on how much data you have. My iCloud has about 1.5TB of data, half of which is photos, so the phone is downloading, optimizing, indexing, building spotlight, etc. not an easy endeavor. The heavy stuff happens while charging, but there is still lots of work happening off the charger

You can check if your phone is doing something that may affect battery life. Settings > Battery. There's no chance that indexing would take a week to finish.

I’m not going to charge it today. And see what it is around 10pm tonight. And report back.

People , tnx a lot to all , and to this forum too.
This is great forum , and you are all , all great….
If anyone wants to share his SOT , and his opinion on battery life, and overheating too , please do , since I have explained my case.
So the battery life is a thing most imprtant to me.
I am medium to heavy user , and on pro max , since ios 18 , i am getting around 5hrs of screen time and 30-40% in 10pm.
I mostly use safari , around 1:30hrs
You tube around 1:30hr
Other is on calls.
I noticed that on pro max 15 , if I am on mobile data , I have 10minutes of talking for 1% …
So hour of talking is around 6%

Now you know with what I am deeling with , so its like , now you what do i need from phone.
If 16 pro max is better than that , I am byong it
