Using my iPhone 16 Pro Max from my homepage I can swipe left to a blank page. Apple support told me it was normal but other iPhone Pros don’t do it. I can add stuff to the page but cannot delete the page but I can delete the widgets.
Normal?

Wasn't there when I first received the phone. Originally I had two pages of apps and the the page of hidden apps but I had to swipe right to get to those other two pages. Never knew it was there until I inadvertently swiped left and I couldn't even get it to swipe back to the right until i powered the screen off and on. Thanks for replying

It was there, it's been there for years, you just didn't notice.

Did you move the stuff to the new phone? Probably the "no widget" page also moved to the new phone through the years.

Nah. The left swipe didn’t start until iOS 18. My son’s iPhone 15 is still on iOS 17 and his doesn’t swipe left. When I first got the 16 I could only swipe right. My home page, a second page with more apps and then the App Library page. As soon as iOS 18 was installed when the left swipe started.
Been using iPhones since the first one in 2007.

Not even close to what mine does. You need to watch and listen. He clearly says swipe right from the left edge of the screen. Also that option could be turned on/off. Nothing like what my video shows. Thanks

Again... it's an empty Today view. It has changed a bit in five years but this is it. Your video clearly shows that, you also add widgets and then remove them.

I don't see where the confusion is.

If it’s a Today view tell me how to turn it off. You can’t. You can turn off today view

Dude you're talking about a totally different option. Hop over to the Apple Support forums and you'll see a lot of people saying they never had the page when swiping left. This is page 1.Home 2. Extra apps 3. App Library. Swiping right brings up these pages.
Swiping left from my Home page was not an option in iOS 17

For the last time - swiping left from page 1 of the home page has been there forever.

You did check the video, right? This feature was present in the previous decade and is nothing new in iOS 18. I mean you actually talked to Apple support about this and still think you're correct? A global conspiracy perhaps?

I understand that from time to time people discover new things in iOS and immediately think they are new. You're not the first, nor the last.

My homepage is intentionally left blank because I moved all of my apps to the right so that I won’t have any apps blocking my wallpaper that I choose to show on the screen. I would leave it blank. That way you can easily see the display wallpaper without apps blocking it.

What happens if you press and hold the home screen until it jiggles then tap on edit pages? Does your blank screen show? If so, can you swipe up and delete it?

Watch the video I posted. The only thing it will let you do is add or remove widgets. You know when you hold down on your main page it shows a dot at the bottom for each page you created? That does not appear on this page. A previous poster said it's been there for years. The only thing that was there was a Search Page and you could also turn it off.

If you can only add or remove widgets that’s literally the today page. Don’t ask for help if you don’t accept the answer.

Wrong. The Today page also had a Search Bar. You could also turn it off and you couldn't swipe left. I'm thinking y'all are overthinking the process. If you can make a Widget page why does Apple need to force one on us? In this photo you see Search. You could add widgets or remove them. You could also turn that OFF in settings and you could not swipe left and force it to appear if it was OFF. The left Swipe in iOS 18 cannot be deleted or turned off.

FYI. I don't have to accept what someone else considers to be the "ANSWER" if it isn't what I'm asking about. This Widget Page didn't show up until iOS 18. It was NOT there in iOS 17.

I don't have a search field on my Today page. Did you say you can have it show or not show? Where is that option located?

If you're on 18.1 or 18.2 they call that a Widget page but if you scroll left and pull down from the middle of the screen Search will pop up from the bottom

I'm talking about the pic you posted of the widget page with the search bar at the top.. I don't have that search bar on my widget page

You mean the screen shot? That was iOS 17 and it was called the Search page instead of the Widget page but you could put widgets on that page. You could also go into settings and disable that page

The "Today View" changed a bit through the years. It used to have a search bar on top (I guess somewhat pre-iOS17), but they later removed it because of the simple swipe down gesture to invoke search.

As far as I know it could never be disabled and was always there, fixed on the "-1" position of the home screen. What could be disabled (and still can be) is its occuring on lock screen, because widgets can show personal information. This option is available in FaceID settings.

There are tons of photos and reviews online, which show how the screen looked through the years.

(how to disable it)

I don't think it changed from iOS 17 to iOS 18 as the OP is claiming.

My son’s iPhone 15 is still on iOS 17 and his doesn’t swipe left.

A screenshot of this would probably settle this debate once and for all. I would actually love to see it.

Wow this thread is surreal 😅
An answer was provided since the beginning, but he refused.
The left page was there since a while (I don’t remember which iOS version exactly), but was revisited and improved over the time.
