But what about battery longevity? Every year the degradation seems to increase much faster. My launch day 15 Pro Max now has 89% max capacity…. Meanwhile my 14, 13 and 12 Pro Max that I still use regularly are hovering around 85-90%.
And be sure to thank the iPhone Plus users for their sacrifice! 8.6% reduction in battery capacity this year.

What are your charging habits like? Do you charge it overnight when it sits at 100% for several hours? That would degrade capacity pretty quickly.
My 13 Pro's battery's capacity is at 95%. I never charge my phone overnight, and rarely to 100%. I usually charge it to 80-90% before bed.
It's still a good panel. Are we trying to chase nits like the Pixel 9 Pro doing 3000 nits or something? Honestly both are very usable in sunlight already, and while you can see a difference side by side I don't think anyone says "omg 2000 nits is so dim" when actually using the phone.
Poor battery life is the reason why I am dumping iPad Pro usage. MacBook Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max are insane.

I’d really like to wait for 12gb of ram but I want to buy at one of the peaks for iPhone battery life (if you pay attention battery life on iPhones does not always increase or stay constant from generation to generation and I don’t want to buy on a dip year ala iPhone 14 Pro).

buy iPhone 16 before or day of iPhone 17 release or after even - then don't use till iPhone 17 battery and ram info out and either return or keep
MagSafe has improved to 25W, thus direct USB cable will be higher. So the assumption is yes. Wattage isn’t specified using USB-C.
Not OP but we keep different OS versions and sizes around for app testing. Emulation is fine and all but it's nice to test with the real thing, too.
It's more like an hour or so extra on the pro & 45/50 min on the Max, in real world use, which isn't bad, however nothing to get excited about
It's still under warranty! Unless it's the way u use it, I would have it checked out real quick
The 15 Pro is better than the 14 Pro and about the same as 13 Pro

Supposedly the battery in your pro should have DOUBLE the longevity of less recent iPhones.... you might have got a duff one. It does happen. Apple replaced my old MacBook Air battery because it wouldn't even hold 50% charge after 2 years, which is abnormal.
My iPhone 15 pro max is at 98% and my wife’s is still at 100%…. Both on launch day.
My M4 13 inch pro is lucky to get 8 to 10 hours a day of regular use. The battery on these things is not great.
