Got the same here, when playin games or when in in a app like reddit or instagram the barcode screen appears sometimes a fraction of a second… weird ass screen glitch… same for the aod..

AOD I could maybe write off as a bug of new feature, but this happening in apps does not sound normal at all to be honest with you..

Replacement phone has been used for 15 days now, with AOD on, and the issue never occurred.

I’m turning AOD back off now bc I don’t care for it, but I’m satisfied to say that there likely was a hardware issue with the previous phone (Apple thinks likely a GPU one).

I had the 18.3 RC installed and it was happening multiple times per day. Now I just installed the 18.3 final release and so far it hasn't happened in the few hours I've had it. I'm not saying it's fixed but rather suggesting that this could be another of the many Apple graphical/animation issues that happen after the phone has been running for a day or so. They clearly have some memory leaks because the longer you go without rebooting, the more stuttery the animations and scrolling becomes. Perhaps this issue is related? Has anyone seen it within a few hours of a fresh reboot?

I switched AOD on after updating to 18.3 public release. It seems like the issue has been fixed after half a day of usage. I hope this is it. 🤞

The initial 18.3 RC had the issue still, but the updated RC to match the public release has been working so far on mine. I hope they squashed it in that final public release. I'll keep everyone posted as to my experience as the week goes on.

Yeah I had the issue on the RC 1 but not on the latest release (RC2/public) so far. Finger crossed!

Please make a feedback to apple.

The more people doing this the higher the chance for a fix.

You can also chat and call them. If many people do this it will be fixed I thinking so.

Do you have an LG Panel with the barcode glitch?
In the past the iPhone 14 Pro Max had also a bug with the screen but only LG screen. This was fixed with an update.

Updated to IOS 18.3.1 - Saw the flicker after few hours. Perhaps we should give feedback like the previous comment.

Confirmed, still happens with 18.3.1... I have submitted feedback as per the link above.

I took my iPhone 16 Pro Max to an Apple service center and I'm going to have the screen replaced, in other words, it's a hardware problem.

I had my screen and main board replaced but it still happens. Let us know how it goes. I‘ve heard others get it replaced and it still persists, so still think it’s a software thing personally.

I reported the case to Apple, and they mentioned they have several open cases related to this issue. Their engineering team is aware of it, and I’m currently gathering evidence (video recordings) to submit to them.

can't believe that such a expensive phone is still 1having this screen glitching issue on since day 1.

I managed to replace it with a new iPhone and this time, the new device does not have the problem.

18.4 beta 1 still has the same screen glitches... actually I'm seeing more with 18.4 than 18.3.

Hi, I would like to understand more about your replacement process. Did they run diagnostic test on your phone? Was there any error? Because I'm told it's software bug. I visited the Apple Store once, they ran diagnostic and there was no issue with hardware. But they saw the flicker.

I also received a replacement (and have not had the issue since). They offered me the replacement bc I had called about the issue a few times before, and since they couldn’t figure out what the issue was after both remote and in person diagnostic test, they did an Apple Express Replacement.

I did have AppleCare+, however a claim wasn’t made and I didn’t pay anything out of pocket.

The guy who did my diagnostic test in person told me he thinks it’s a GPU issue that their diagnostics equipment can’t pick up.

Tks for sharing. If they are unable to resolve this within this week, I'll be asking them for a replacement. The senior technician told me he has submitted the ticket to engineering team after I showed them the video. Today I'll have a call with him, for him to run more diagnostic (which may seem pointless because diagnostic tool didn't pick up anything). I've endured this for 6 months since. It's really frustrating for a phone to be this expensive and has defect.

I think if it would be a GPU issue those glithes would be present on recorded video of screen, but they arent.
