Belkin installed at Apple. Perfect fit and no issues like the cheap protectors.

Made a quick trip to the Apple Store (10 min away for me) and picked up the Belkin. Perfect fit. Must’ve gotten early batches of the spigen and esr since I ordered them right after the phones were announced 🤦🏻‍♂️

For my Belkin people, how’s the edges? Are they rounded? Might need to bite the bullet and go with Belkin this year, because the Torras I had with the black edges was collecting dust like crazy.

Tried the AT&T ones (since I work there and historically they have been really good -they’re also made by Zagg) but omg the fit is horrible and there’s a lot of packing issues leaving impossible to remove white lint around the edges. Went to apple and got belkin. This one is perfect!!
So you feel the Belkin is better than the Zagg one? The Zagg one I got doesn't seem to cover the front of the phone display as much as it did in prior iPhones. I am a little disappointed.

I took off my Zagg one and went to Apple tonight and had them install the Belkin one on my PM. 100% normal and perfect. It fully covers the screen and then some. I am much happier with the Belkin one over the Zagg.

No one else seems to be having an issue with the spigen so I am puzzled

I had a not so good fit with the ESR on mine on Friday, and saw the same thing on the top edge. I tried two of the three pack on my phone with not good results. I then ordered the Spigen GlasTR EZ fit.

While waiting for it to arrive, I tried the third ESR protector on my wife’s phone that we set up today and that came out perfectly.

I used the new press tool that came with the kit and after that, all the edges stuck like they are supposed to.

I got the Spigen a little while ago and installed on my phone and so far looks good. I did have to use the tool, as per above to smooth out the edges, and it looks good.

I wonder if there are some slight differences in the tolerances of the protecters onto the frame which is resulting in the issues?

Given the price of the protectors, it may be that, in addition to a simple glue dispersion issue.

I also got a Spigen privacy screen. I will install it as soon as I get another pack of the Spigen protector I did install, in case I don’t like the privacy screen.

No issues with the Spigen on my PM, and I even peeled up a corner after it was down to get some dust out.

Did Apple apply it or you did? I'm thinking to go to Apple Store too. Its 5 minute walk from me and get done with this.

My Benks matte protector is like that too...
I found out it was actually my phone screen that was warped! When I went to apple today today to exchange my case color and get the screen protector swapped they tried SEVEN different ones and none would lay flat. Then we realized it was the phone that was warped! So I had to swap my whole phone today. nor a huge deal but looks like I’ll spend another evening logging into everything 😂

Now that's another dimension to the whole issue.

Ugh, I think the only way to get the Apple Store to swap out for a warped screen is for them to do the same (go through a bunch of the Belkins).

I'm on the upgrade program too and when they do an exchange within the return period they have to cancel the loan and run another soft check I think.

I will probably hold off here for a month or two to see if these companies can "fix" their products.

Ok. Here as an update after my trip to Apple store.

They applied the Belkin screen protector. But it had same issues, bubbles on edges and they couldn't take them out. Then they tried with a second one and it went fine. No bubbles this time. I'm back home and still see no bubbles. Lets see how it goes in few days.

I suspect with these screens protectors, margin of error is really low.

Woah really? I do it through my carrier (I work there and usually pay the phone off anyway) but yeah I called work and had them cancel my trade and did the equipment swap at apple. What a journey! Def took my weekend but its worth it!

They did mention they had some issues with adhesion. I know you saw my message but again if it comes back up consider what happened to me. Mine went down on a few but they slowly raised up after an hour or so. The reapplications they tried were far worse than what I went in with but still I’m so fussy! Haha but yeah first try on the new phone 👍🏻

I had the Belkin protector installed at the Apple Store and I’ve had 2 full days with it, couldn’t be happier. I am awful at applying screen protectors so I wasn’t going to waste money trying.

Yep, had them apply it - for that price I wanted a guaranteed fit, plus I wanted to rule out a defective screen that was warped. It went on perfectly their first attempt and it's still holding up after a motorcycle ride with a quad-lock case
