Today after almost a month i have received the uniq optix clear glass. Coverage is crap, oleophobic coating seems good and edges are very rounded and nice to the touch. For now from what i have personally tested, i can tell that the coverage of protectors is (from worst to best when it come to horizontal coverage):
Belkin, optix, esr, spigen, ultraglass

Yikes, the coverage of that protector is pretty crap, to be honest. My Belkin UG2, whilst a dust-magnet on the edges, has much better coverage than that.

It’s funny you should say that, because unless apple sells different ug2 than belkin itself, the coverage of the two is basically spot on.

Yeah I’m finding your comment to be a bit strange as well because in my experience the Belkin UG2 is also the one with the “least worse” coverage. It’s the only one I’ve found that covers the entire visible screen portion all around without leaving any rainbow effect from any angle, (without being edge to edge of course, as there is still a gap within the bezel where it does pick up lint annoyingly). While it would be a weird choice, I guess it could be possible that there is some difference between the version you order online and the one they apply at the store.

From what I could find doing a quick search, ug2 straight from Belkin has different EAN, thickness and width compared to what apple sells on their website (Belkin 0,29mm 145,3x6,73 vs apple 0,51mm 145,7x6,75). I have no clue what they are giving at the stores.

According to product pages:
Belkin 0,29mm 145,3x67,3 (found at distributors page) / 0,51mm 145,7x67,5
ESR 0,3mm 145,6x67,5
Spigen 0,58mm 146x68

Which would basically go in line with what i have found myself, although irl there is no way that spigen is 68mm wide. However with calipers (can't tell you precisely though by how much since they ran out of battery) i can say that belkin i got is the narrowest and spigen the widest.

Edit: Belkins support said it's the same so i guess they have discrepancy in data.

What about screen blocking? Can you post a picture of the camera app corners? Thx.

Is this the one you’re referring to? https://a.co/d/7eg3H21

Noo its the uniq optix clear, without black borders. It extends past active display just by a smidge

Btw. I talked with flolab, around next week new glass with thinner bezels should be released

Did you purchase it on Amazon? If so, do you have a link to it? I can’t seem to find it.

Also noticed that this clear one don’t have that little cut for the speaker grill… curious if they really the same size as the regular Torras/Ultraglass
also got this one from them after complaining about the one with black borders... so its still a no-go... damn!

I hated to spend the money on Zagg, but since it’s a lifetime replacement that can get at Best Buy I felt it was worth it. However I’m on my third one in a month. I have the Glass Elite and maybe because of the stupid open design of Apples clear case it keeps breaking at the bottom. I’m wondering if the “better” Zagg screen protectors would last a bit longer or if I need to go back to a case with better protection at the bottom.

I'm using this Anti reflection edition of the Ultraglass Unbreak screen protector and despite having black boarders it seems this one do not cover part of the screen as much as the regular Ultraglass, I believe because of the applicator they used in this version is a little better to align the protector (similar what Torras use) and had an impression that this one has better coverage (less gap) which is a good thing, the anti-reflective properties is really good, is a little bit more expensive than the regular Ultraglass Unbreak and comes with only one but for me really worth it and my favorite of all protectors that I have tested so far (and I tested a lot of other brands) - is the best reviewed protector for 16 pro Max on Amazon now.

Thanks for this. Do you know, is this the same thickness as the Torras (.71mm)? I can’t find the spec on the Amazon listing.

It's definitely thinner than Torras, and had an impression that is thinner than the regular Ultraglass Ubreak too, really impressed with this one so far and definitely this one will stick on my 16 Pro Max.

Can you post a couple of pictures perhaps one with the coverage and one with the camera app corners visible? Thanks.

Interesting… how’s the lint collecting at the borders?

Some pics of the Ultraglass Unbreak Anti Reflection edition you will notice that still has some gap but is minimal and is thinner than torras and the regular ultraglass which makes the dust to not get stuck on the gaps like the thick protectors - the thick protectors are raised which makes way easier for dust get trapped in a “corridor” between the silicone case and the protector and this is not happening here also as you can see if you look straight to the screen you can see clearly the 4 Ls only if you move a little bit to the side it may cover a little one or another due to the parallax effect and do not bother me at all - really happy with this one you can see and feel this is a premium product the best so far and the best quality screen protector on Amazon right now, I wish I have tried this one before. Finally I found the chosen one! 🙏

Can you provide a link to order?

Part of me just doesn’t want to even bother with a screen protector anymore. So much of a hassle having to find the right one, place it, etc. plus I already have Apple care. I know it doesn’t cover the little marks on the coating that show up after some time of use.
