Thank you!

I was thinking it could be the exact same as ESR. I keep wondering if the ESR have less rainbowing than Aliun.
I’ve used Aliun for years with good results, but on my 16PM the rainbowing was crazy. Went with ESR after some research and definitely feel like it’s more durable + less rainbowing.

Edges are noticeably sharper though, I use a case without side bumpers and it was apparent.

Did you get the regular ESR or the Armorite?

Exact same thing with me! An air bubble in the bottom corner that won't go away. Which protector are you using now?
The flolab is too expensive especially with shipping like you said to have these issues. It's not like you can return it easily like if you bought it from Amazon which makes it even more annoying.
I switched to the esr armorite. I don’t like thick screen protectors and this one is cheaper than the Belkin (plus it comes with 3). I may just stop using a screen protector though.

So, putting aside screen coverage, rainbow effect, thickness, etc… what’s the best screen protector right now for the 16PM only considering the oleophobic capacity/smudge resistance?

For me, in terms of oleophobic coating the UltraGlass anti reflective version on Amazon has the best coating.

HighTechCheck did a video comparing various screen protectors. One of the things he tested is fingerprint resistance. It may be helpful:

Really?? Wow… that’s the one I have and I’m terribly annoyed by all the prints and smudges mine picks up.
There are multiple versions. Make sure you have the anti reflective one. There’s a big difference from what I can tell.
This is the one I’m using currently and have zero complaints.

How are the edges on this? I’m quite happy with the ESR overall on my 16PM but the edges are sharp and using a case with no side bumpers it’s rather noticeable. Thinking about grabbing the anti reflective ultraglass after the ESR runs its course. Kind of meh on the flolabs after reading this thread

They are rounded and feel great. I use a Suti case regularly and have no issues.

I tried the JDHDL hydrogel screen protectors.

The good:

There is no rainbow effect.

The protector is almost as clear as tempered glass. And so thin it looks like a naked screen.

No sharp corners.

No issues with sensitivity.

The Bad:

The protector feels rubbery. Like a cheap car touchscreen.

Not full coverage.

No oleophobic coating. It attract fingerprints a lot.

The Ugly:

Installation is a 🤬. There is an alignment tool that barely helps. The protector has to be rolled slowly into the screen to prevent bubbles which gives time for dust to get in.

No idea yet about durability. I will post an update if the protector peels or scratches.

All in all hydrogel is not for me. I’ll keep waiting for Flolab and others to make bent glass protectors. That will solve the rainbow and sharp corners without the drawbacks of hydrogel.

I'm trying to find a new screen protector for my 16Pro. I have the ESR pack of 3, I'm already on the second screen and it's already cracked and chipped (without dropping the phone) on the same spot as the first one. I had ESR previously on my 13Pro and never had this issue. Probably quality has deteriorated.
I look on amazon and nothing stands out, all seem to crack , probably the same manufacturer under different company names
Oh and also get the rainbow effect, it doesn't bother me but cracks do

My take on a new FLOLAB on a 16 PM:

I bought it just when they released it. Installed the first one and got a bubble on top. Manwhile damaged it by hitting on my macbook very lightly. Asked for warranty, payed for shipping (crazy expesnive comparing to any other shipping from China, 1/4th of the product cost). Installed the new one and it is skewed to the right which results in a huge bubble on the whole right side of the phone. Two months of shipping and installing and meanwhile I got a scratch on my screen. Now they ask me to pay shipping cost again even though it is completely not my fault. So my take is simple, they give you so called "warranty" bc they earn money on shipping too. So each time their product is faulty they earn more and more money bc they don't have any standard for European countires or US warranties. So you can very easily look at FLOLAB as on a very sophisticated SCAM. And what worse, the chance you will have a working product at the end is negligible. Not sure at this point if I want to warranty it anymore, will see. But overall keep in mind it is much cheaper to jsut go to an Appel Store and buy Belkin (if you live in US) or any other mediocre and cheap screen protector.

I would strongly suggest not to buy FLOLAB bc it is:
-crazy hard to install without problems and bubbles, the installing tray is ****** and probalby was not upgraded to a new screen protector sizing. So it gives you bubbles every time the sp is shifted to the side.
-you don't get any warranty (you have to pay overpriced shipping costs each time) is it even legal? Like seriously.
-the screen protector is crazy expensive from the get go (it goes form China not US so they bypass any agents etc.), shipping cost is 1/4 of the product price (in Poland it is shipped with a cheapest possible postage), so 4 tries and you already have paid for the second one. And again, I think like 1/4 of the shipping cost is real shipping, 1/4 is a product cost, and 1/2 is earning on you again and again.
-by buying from them you are supporting a clever but very ****** way of selling goods.

For the price, you can really go to any other place nearby and get a decent screen protector installed for cheaper and better. Even Apple Store is the same price but you omit all the scammy warranty shipping costs. So in reality if you can get a Belkin one, probably it is better like 10 out of 10 times.

TLDR. Very ****** product (I'm a new iphone user so I know FLOLAB was know as being great but I'm talking just 16 PM new upgraded version which is ****** at least for me)

PS. We don't have Belkin at Apple Store here in Poland.

FloLab has been heavily promoted by influencers, but in the real world I’ve read plenty of stories like yours. Also, their oleophobic coating has always been sub par.

I’m having good luck with the Belkin UG2 this year. I did the install at home and haven’t had any issues since. It’s the thinnest glass protector in the market, so there are reports of unexplained cracking, but mine has been good so far. I like the thinness and the oleophobic coating has held up well.

I really didn't use it that much to have my stance on the oleaphobic coating but my main reason was the antiglare protection and I must say after checking it live, the youtube videos showing how amazing the coating is, must be all fake.At least in terms of antiglare there is almost no diff betweenFLOLAB screen protector and no protector at all.

Agree fully on the influencers part. Best argument would be the crazy low quality of 16 PM screen (LG mostly) and noone mentions that.

FWIW, I found a piece of dust at the bottom of the screen so decided to do a fresh install on the anti-glare UltraGlass and I managed to tilt it slightly to the left enough for one of the camera guides to be slightly covered. But it has not bothered me in day to day use. Sitting right at 4 weeks and the oleophobic coating is still going strong.

I’m liking the new FloLab protector. I had a perfect install which is crucial since it only comes with one in the package. I’ve used Belkin UltraGlass which has been subpar for me since it’s cracked two times out of nowhere. Belkin do however provide very good customer care at least here in Denmark (EU) since they’ve replaced the protector without charge both times.
