My FloLab 3D protector is out for delivery today, so I will have it installed this weekend. Fingers crossed it goes on well...they are pricey and takes time to get a warranty replacement since they ship directly from China. I have my current .7mm bezel version and the install is fine as far as no bubbles but it is just too small and leaves too much gap around the phone edges.

I hate taking off a well installed protector, but oh well.

Good luck with the installation. And keep us posted.

If you take pics, could you take some from the side to see the curvature and how far it goes?

Thanks

Anyone here tried the new flo lab? Are the black borders still eating into the screen?
I received it for the 16 pro a couple days ago. The black borders don’t cover part of the screen but you have to get it perfectly aligned. The installation plate thing had it a tiny bit off so I took it off and did it by hand and now all of the “L” in the camera app show. I had the .7mm bezel one before but this new 3D one goes closer to the edges of the phone and if get it perfectly aligned doesn’t cover any of the screen. Not sure for 16 pro max , but for 16 pro seems like the best I’ve tried so far.

Could you post some pictures? How far to the edges do it reach?

I'm doing mine tonight. Any issues with bubbles being hard to get out? How is anti glare and anti polarization vs the .7mm version?

I don’t have another camera on me right now but can take some pictures later today. It definitely goes closer to the edges compared to the .7mm version, but still leaves a little bit of room where it should work with most cases. With my leather cases it leaves a little sliver of space between the edge of the screen protector and edge of the case, but almost unnoticeable and the edges taper down with this one compared to the .7mm version. I’ll post pics of it when I can.

How is the dust accumulation around the edges. the .7mm version collects alot!

Was a few that were kinda hard to get out but no air bubbles now, and the anti glare and anti polarization seems about the same compared to the .7mm version. The only annoying part was the installation guide had it a little off so freehanding it was a little time consuming but once I got the perfect position no covering of the screen at all. Definitely an improvement from the .7mm version. Good luck with yours tonight!

Oh way better with the 3D version. The edges just taper a lot more so less area to collect, plus it goes almost all the way up to the edge of my case. I’ve only had it on my phone for a day but no dust anywhere as of yet, at least nothing noticeable.

Does that’s mean that there’s no light bleed on the sides/top/bottom like with the old .7 mm version? When phone is tilted I’m able to see the screen beneath the black border.

Yeah no light bleed at all with the 3D version. I also had a lot of light bleeding with my .7mm version too.

When you say the guide was off, was it to one side, or diagonally crooked? Trying to see if I can look out for how it fits in the guide before I pull the plastic.

I received my hot bend FloLab today and had the store install it on my 16 Pro. Really happy it with so far! But first screen protector overall so what do I know. Happy to answer any questions.

Was just shifted down a tiny bit and to one side a little. Was barely off , just one of the “L”s in the camera app was partially blocked. I mean the installation guide works really well, I just wanted it perfectly even so no blocking of the screen.

Yeah my .7mm sits a bit low so there is a bigger gap at the top than the bottom. You really have to look for it though. I'm not too obsessed about perfect camera L alignment so if I get a dust free bubble free install I'd probably be too afraid to pull it off and try by hand!

Tried taking some pics with an old iPad so the photos aren’t great but that’s without a case, with a leather case, and tpu case. No more light bleeding, no blocking screen, and a closer to the edges of the phone.

yeah it was a hassle. Doing it by hand took awhile because I kept getting dust and having to take it off and redo it. It probably would have been fine had I just left the initial install, since I got all bubbles out and no dust, i more just wanted to see if I could position it so none of the screen blocked at all and so it positioned right up to the edge of my case on each side

Not completely foolproof but having the camera activated to help perfect the install helps. Move it if needed then press lightly on the top of the screen protector in the middle of the template and pull the film out as straight as possible.

That's a good idea. I didn't think you'd able to see the Ls with the tray and film in place.
