In that picture, my eyes see retro beige... like computer cases from a few decades ago...

...particularly in PC tower "beige" (left) vs. iPhone mockup. I do not see "gold" at all in that mockup...

You know when did I get those retro-PC vibes? When I saw the starlight MacBook Air. It’s so tempting to put a rainbow Apple sticker on it…

I have noticed on eBay iPhone special colours like midnight green, sierra blue etc hold there value much better than the regular colours. When I buy my next iPhone I will pass on gold, white & black.

Unpopular opinion: I couldnt care less how close the iPhone can get to actual gold..

Even if they actually nail it, and it looks like legit gold - why would anyone want a real gold looking iPhone?

Do we expect people to believe it’s real gold?
Everyone knows its fake.

Is it a psychological effect that makes one feel they own an iPhone “edition”?

While we’re at it why dont we have real looking platinum, emerald and sapphire phones😅

I don’t know I guess I just don’t get the hype of “how real the gold looks”

Incredible that they are making phones out of titanium now. That's the same material they use to make spy planes, as Steve Jobs pointed out years ago. Now you can have a titanium super computer in your pocket in a few months... what a world!! Can't wait for the 16.

Really ugly. Can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of the Gold color though, other than the iPhone XS — that was a nice metallic looking gold color on the glass back. With these frosted glass backs now though, it just doesn’t pop.
