If the bezels get much slimmer, it will be hard for me to hold the phone without triggering an accidental screen touch around the edge. That already happens sometimes, when my 15PM is not in a case.
I've been saying this since the iPhone X. I miss having the top and bottom of the device to hold onto when taking video.

Dynamic island is actually more intrusive than the notch was, it was a genius invention. NOT.

It is remarkable how Apple sold a bigger and more intrusive notch to users by making it a software feature that nobody actually uses or cares about. I think it worked for about 2 days. Apple's Reality Distortion Field ain't what it used to be.

Again, this is about iphone 16 and not the PRO
So maybe close to Pro series bezels

Read the last paragraph

"It is not clear whether the slimmer bezel technology is destined for the standard iPhone 16 models, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, or both. It may be more likely to appear singularly in the iPhone 16 Pro models since these devices are expected to see display size increases from 6.1- to 6.3-inches and 6.7- to 6.9-inches, without a substantial increase in overall size. It is also worth noting that Apple reduced the bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max last year significantly more than the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Last month, a report coming out of Korea suggested that BIS technology will come to the entire iPhone 16 lineup."

Marketing tells you it’s the Porsche my friend.

Between a Samsung galaxy and an iPhone you think there is much technology difference?

Let’s call the Samsung a Kia. The Apple is then the Hyundai.

Same **** my friend.

Don’t let the marketing fool you.
You didn't get my point at all.
I am not talking of Porsche as superior to the competitor, but solely of it's iconic design. What has marketing to do with the design?

I can distinguish a Porsche from a mile because of its design. I can not tell you which year it was built in, but I can tell you it's a Porsche (911).

Same goes for iPhone.

How about with each new model year we move the slot one pixel higher. Eventually it will become an almost imperceptible notch that melts into the display perimeter. The technology might not be available yet, but if anyone can Apple can 😍

I want no bezels just screen, even the 15 pro max bezels are huge with the space black iPhone you can see the huge bezels around it

I mean...fair enough, but it's not something that improves the usability in any tangible way.
More excited for the AI cores in the SOC, the action button (on normal models) and the improved ultra wide angle camera.

I upgraded from the 12 to the 15 Pro Max and it was big difference. The screen had noticeably smoother scrolling with ProMotion and it had other improvements as well. It's oftentimes hard to justify upgrading to the next year's model but if you wait a another year or two, the differences stack up and become apparent.
Perhaps three or four years minimum this time... I can't see what improvements we really need from the iPhone 15Pro Max. Maybe one camera lens with a sensible focal length rather than 3 with unhelpful focal lengths? 😅

I care about bezels more than I probably should lol
iPhone 15 Pro Max looks amazing with those thin bezels and lightly curved glass but I'm always excited for even thinner bezels 🤩

?? How is that even possible? Genuinely curious. Never heard it happen.

Like cool and all but come on. Something needs to change with the design. It is stale.
Smart phones are what they are: pieces of glass in a frame that house the user interface. Not much you can do about that. A button here, some millimeters there, a different colour… they are all the same. You can maybe fold them, but that’s about it.

All smartphones have evolved into mature, boring looking rectangles, irrespective of brands. Which is fine. Hammers have also been mature for centuries and are great tools for their intended jobs 😄.

What software feature does nobody care about? I think dynamic island is very useful.

Guys, you gotta see the iPhone as the Porsche 911 of phones. Only incremental changes, refinements and improvements here and there but the designlanguage stays the same. Many are complaining but can you imagine the sarcasm and sh*%storm if Apple radically changed the iPhones design? I bet everyone would hate it because it doesn‘t look like an iPhone anymore.
I agree that the current form factor is not likely to change much, and many would be upset if it did. Most are used to it. Some talked about other form factors like foldable, but I doubt that would ever become a majority of the market.

Instead I wish Apple would spend some time looking into the actual day-to-day use most people give the device and improve that experience. As a long time (30+ years) Apple customer, it just feels like they don’t place as much emphasis on providing highly intuitive, straightforward access to functionality as they used to. I’m much more annoyed (for example) that I can’t use my finger to quickly place a cursor where I want (due to all the auto select crap), or autocorrect behaving like it is trying to slow me down through outlandish substitutions, or Maps having tons of severely outdated information on businesses, than I am about the basic form factor of the phone. The things I’ll be doing many times over the time I own the device are what matter most. Try to innovate THAT!
