Agree. Certainly the idle battery drain though needs fixing. 2% an hour is not brilliantYou could run this article every year when a new major iOS version is released. I don't see why this is news?
My iPhone 16 Pro Max battery life is fine. Compared to my old iPhone 13 Pro Max (83% battery health), my 16 has AOD enabled and i use the screen at 100% brightness and still easily have >50% at the end of the day.
If they improve battery drain (which they usually do with the iOS minor updates) then it's just a bonus for me.
You saw 95-97% battery after a whole day of light use with your old iPhone15 Pro?The quote from huan is roughly what I have experienced with my 16 Pro occasionally. However, I have not tried any of the frame limit settings etc. Also noticing in the battery section of settings that 'home & lockscreen' are always the top battery users where that never used to be the case on my 15 Pro.
I noticed the battery drain the worst in the first 2 weeks, way longer than indexing/new phone setting up battery drain should take. Ending up with 50-60% battery left at the end of the day when I would normally have 80-90% left with my 15 Pro. The last 2 weeks I've noticed a definite improvement, I'm seeing 70-90% by the end of the day with it averaging in the high 80s and low 90s on a light use day. Still not great in comparison, my 15 Pro on a light use day would be at 95-97% at the end of the day. I was blown away by my 15 Pro's battery life. The 16 Pro is much more similar to how my 14 Pro was but slightly worse. Assuming software fixes need to occur. Have also still felt like the 16 Pro's touch screen sometimes isn't as responsive as it should be. This has been a buggy year for Apple software. They need to get it together over there! Maybe pull some people off the vision pro team or something... lol.

I literally have hundreds of apps. The process to do that would be insane. Many games where I would lose progress, re-setting up every app and every folder. That's a non-starter. Apple just needs to fix it IMO.My battery life is amazing, I go all day and probably have 30-40% left by the end of the day (and I play Pokemon Go a lot).
I do think the problem may be related to iCloud backups. I always start from scratch (i like to go throw all the settings and downloading apps I actually need).
Sometimes the issue is in the backup, and when using them on a new phone the issue could carry on - or be amplified on a newer device.
I used to work for Apple for 8 years and would see this all the time. If you are having major battery issues try erasing the phone and setting it up as new (don’t use a backup) and who may see these problems be gone.
