For people wondering how reviewers can determine the mAh value, since they're not allowed to disassemble the review device.

I was making more of a general lament - the industry seems locked into using mAh now because it’s all consumers really understand given how prevalent it is as a unit of measure of battery capacity instead of the more precise Wh.
I allso find it a bit odd that they use milli amper hours when ther are multiple thousand of them, would it not make more sense to say 3.2Ah instead of 3200mAh as you in fact are multiplying milli (1/1000) with 1000 and thus cancel the prefix. this is not a reflection on OP just a general inquiry about the usage of units and prefixes. or is it just taat the genareal public seas mAh as a unit rather than prefix*unit ie they won't make the connection 1000mAh =1Ah since yjey dont see the m in mAh as as a si prefix

is the camera mediocre, compared to wat, the 16 pro, the 15 or the 12 pro (semi relevant to me bacuse this is the phone I'll replace with the 16e= and why is it mediocre is it hw (sensor + lense= or is it sw which can be improved duing the devices life.
From what I have seen in reviews, the camera is not as good as those you find on earlier models, including the regular models of 12 onwards. No wide angle, lesser depth of field, less natural bokeh, no macro photography... This is more than enough for me, as a 13 mini user, to not even consider this phone. Eventually, if there is no follow up to a mini, I would have to compromise and get a bigger phone, unwillingly, but I'd not be looking at a phone with these specs. Better get a 15 new instead or a 15Pro refurbished at this point in time.

Thanks for the detailed reply.I'm not a exactly a photographer so I think the 16e will serve me well. You might be right about getting the 15 instead, but I want to test the apple c1. see if apple might have a chance to give qualcomm a run for their money

I believe it’s just to make for better marketing to give a very large number to sound large to a potential buyer. I agree it with what you’re saying though.

iPhone 16e is a perfect example of why sharing mAh alone is misleading.

The numbers 3,961 mAh and 15.556 Wh imputes a voltage of 3.927V. This is never before seen on an iPhone battery.

If we just looked at mAh, we would have thought battery capacity only increased by 10%. In reality, it is closer to 12%.
This teardown is showing 4,005 mAh. I wonder why Dave2D/that software screenshot you shared is showing 3,961 mAh.

Some have argued that it's not even as good as the previous models, including as far back as 13 line. It's probably just the hardware limitation. I just think that the price they are asking for this phone is a little too high for what it offers.
