Phone would be perfect for me except for photography aspect. I rarely stream videos on the phone and my life doesn’t revolve around the instant need of notifications from every app. Current phone lasts two to three days between charges but usually it gets charged in my car. Would love a lighter phone.

The iPhone 17 Air internal battery pack is just 2.49mm thick and appears to be about half as thin as the iPhone 17 Pro battery
Half as thin? That means it is twice as thick! You ought to change that as I'm pretty sure you mean the opposite.

2. Why on earth would you put a case on a phone. Apple spends billions a year on R&D to engineer a masterful phone only for you to cover it with an ugly case? Makes zero sense.
Go ahead and argue with thousands of forum members who put a case on their iPhone to 1. Protect the iPhone from daily scratches and dents and 2. Save costs on expensive AppleCare (expensive for some).
Even if Apple makes the iPhone as thin as a sheet of paper, people WILL put cases on it.

Yes, because we live in a world where chargers are scarce, except for the one magical charger we all have at home 🙄
I know, right?

You’re mistaken. If they can achieve this thinness, they absolutely should bring it to market. If it doesn’t suit you, simply buy something else that does. Ultimately, we vote with our wallets.
Why this is so hard for people to understand is beyond me. I like Hondas, and I think they make good vehicles. I'm not fond of the Honda Ridgeline because I find it hideous. But I do acknowledge that it's a great commuter vehicle that can meet the needs of people who need to haul things on occasion -- people who don't want a traditional full-size American pickup.

It's not for me, but it appeals to other people... and that's OK. I don't make it my mission to tell other people that the Ridgeline is a piece of crap because it doesn't fit MY needs.

Looks very thin. However not impressed with the rumored battery capacity. Might have to charge more frequently.

Me. I absolutely hate the weight and bulk of current phones.

1. Any battery pack can easily be bent, this is a nonissue.

Its 2025, where are you going without a charger or access to one? The only time my phone has ever died is because I didn’t use it for several days and forgot to put it on the charger. I wake up, my phone is on a charger, on the way to the office I have a wireless charger built into my car. I arrive at my office there is a charger (since I am a developer its plugged in most of the time anyways so I can debug code and test my app), I go to lunch meetings most places have wireless charges built into their tables now. I go home and watch TV, my couch has a built in wireless charger.

Even if you go camping most camping gear/backpacks now have solar panels to charge your devices

Yes they did.
Do you really think Apple gives a damn about whether or not people use phone cases?

Why do you think they sell cases?

How many times do we need to read the paragraph about the 60, 70, 80, 90% again?

Bendgate 2.0. Hopefully it doesn't catch fire in your pocket like the old samsung note 7 when it bends and punctures the battery.
Bendgate 1.0 was a bunch idiots clickbaiting. and yes we will no doubt also see Bendgate 2.0, a bunch idiots clickbaiting.

Agree. This is like the old droid X of the day where they claimed it was so thin yet had the thickness nearly double up top. Shouldn't be allowed to claim it is X thin if it is not that the entire way through.
"Claims" are just claims. It is what vendors do. And IMO volume is more important than the overall thin; i.e. how it fits in your pocket.

Seriously you find my Ridgeline hideous?

I am heartbroken ;). At least you must appreciate that unlike other midsize pickups like Tacos it can fit 48" wide sheet goods flat in the bed...

This is how Gurman "get things accurate". He says, it will be "on part with other iPhone devices." Which means absolutely nothing. Is "on par" 100% parity with other iPhone devices? 90%? 80%? 75%? This guy just throws speghetti at the wall and hopes something sticks. He is no better at having more knowledge of this stuff than any MacRumors reader.

I'd rather hear what research analyst and those with inside knowledge of the supply chain have to say. Not just some tech commentator.

This. Good battery, no bump. Simple.

Would also allow for an iPhone Mini that would actually be practical...
Sorry but "no bump" is not "Simple" unless Apple way deprecates camera competence, and consumers have become accustomed to camera competence. Someday the bump might go away, but it will not be soon and it would definitely not be simple.

Just my luck that I’d make a Ridgeline reference on MR and get called out by an actual owner 😂😂

Nah, but seriously. I never liked the looks of the first gen, which was even uglier. The second gen looks more traditional, but it still looks a bit… softroader-ish.

In all honesty, it’s probably the most well-rounded midsize truck for people that don’t want the downsides of living with a live rear axle midsize truck (and have you priced a new Tacoma, sheesh). But I just can’t get past the mommy-mobile “Pilot with a bed” looks 😆

The battery life on my iPhone 16 Pro Max has been dismal. Hopefully the next version will be an improvement.

Tell that to Google with their pixel and not having a bump. With 1 camera there is 0 excuse on apple's part. Not to mention the camera isn't trash.

Don't tell the owners' forum but I too never liked the G1 looks. G2 is indeed a bit… softroader-ish, IMO a good thing to skip the macho Taco look.

I guess a thin phone with a case is still thinner than a regular phone with a case. Me, I loved it when iPhones became tough enough a few years ago to go caseless.
