You’d really choose the Air over Pro Max just because of the form factor?

Single camera, slightly less screen, smaller battery and less powerful GPU.

Now in that case you truly might as well hold on to your 16PM then imo as that would be a downgrade.

I know for me the honeymoon phase of the form factor would fade quickly and I’d want the Pro/Pro Max again so personally I’m not even going to play myself with all the hype for the Air.

Yes, I think I probably would. The camera downgrade would be the main negative for me, though I’d say easily 90% of my photos are taken on the primary 24mm equivalent “Fusion” camera, so I wouldn’t be giving up much. The ultra wide is fun for the occasional specialty shot but the distortion is oh so bad, and the telephoto is not long enough to be useful in most sports or wildlife situations, so I don’t often use either. No one has said what the focal length of the single camera on the Air is going to be, but as long as it ends up being somewhere between 24-50mm, I could live with that. For those edge cases, I have a mirrorless system with lenses from 16-600mm… lol.

The slightly smaller screen, slightly less powerful GPU, and smaller battery would not have any appreciable effect on my day-to-day experience—I rarely use 1/2 of my battery capacity in a normal day, which also explains why my battery condition is so good after almost a year:

All that said, I won’t be upgrading unless something dramatic happens to my 16PM.

Well sounds like the Air is an adequate upgrade for you. Of course only if something dramatic happens to your 16PM 😉

Just ordered the same. Benks was my first case ordered last year (Aug 27 and they shipped a day later). It think I remember checking in with you about it back then as well. The 600D ArmorPro has been my most used case, despite lacking the CC button. Looking forward to the improvements on this one.

Code INS20 got me 20% off. But I did have to pay $5 in shipping (2024 it was free).

It really is one of the best cases.

Still waiting for mine, 10 days so far. Of course there's no rush as the phone is a month or so away.

Ordered on the 7th, cleared customs yesterday so expect I'll have it by Tuesday/Wednesday.

Yeah, it's free delivery until you add a discount code. Then they add $3.99 delivery. 🤔
Still a little saving though.

I hate to buy a case now not knowing what phone will look like as far as color. If orange is as leaked no thanks; pushes me towards a traditional color. Seeing color of phones necessary before I can buy case(s).

I ordered the ArmorPro Case built with Kevlar® 600D for iPhone 17 Pro Max (for 1st available case).

Otherwise I will be looking at another Nomad like my 16PM wears - and interested in the Ryan London leather 17 PM cases.

Hunter green Andar case looks sick, not sure if Andar is going to make one for the Air though. Only seeing a blue and red option for the Air which sucks. Probably go with a Pro in black so everything just matches up nicely.

The Ryan London black CC case I have on my 16PM, while still nice, was not very tough in the end – the leather scratched really easily compared to Apple's own branded leather cases in previous years, unfortunately.
