Now I have the Belkin and the ESR, wondering I should also get the TORRAS because of the slight differences on the black boarders. 😂

After reading through this thread I decided on the Torras Origarmor only to find it’s not available for the Air. Does anybody have a suggestion for the nearest equivalent protector?

I put the two ESR ones side by side and ran my fingers across them and felt zero difference in thickness, but they do have the front and back film on them. The edges appear to be the same also, just slightly rounded on each.

I peeled the film on the front corner of each to try to get a sense of the anti-reflective feature on them but couldn’t see a difference between the two. I don’t know the proper way to compare AR though since I put these next to my current phone and ipad that don’t have AR screen protectors and they seemed to reflect my ceiling light equally.

But I’ll probably stick with the ESR Corning version. The difference between 3 for $20 or $30 doesn’t matter too much for me so I’ll just go for the more expensive option with the thought that it actually is better even if I can’t tell. I wanted to go with the seemingly more premium TORRAS glass but the feature making it edge-to-edge doesn’t appear to be case friendly.
I’ve been reading all pages before deciding, I think I’m going to do exactly what you’re doing, I’m going with the ESR oh… and just right now my wife told me she bought me an ESR case so I think it’ll be perfect. I wanted the torras but I don’t think it’ll be doable because of the case thing.

I ordered the Torras origarmor anti glare. Seems to be the closest to the flolab or even better. $35 from Amazon so it was cheaper. And I don’t want to risk getting the flolab when they don’t even have their 3d version out yet. I hope this Torras one fits right. I’ll report back once I do get it installed.

Is anyone worried about the installation tray scuffing the aluminum frame?

Used Spigen glas.tr ez fit for the past few years and it was awesome.
It says, that the 16PM model fits the 17 but i have my doubts (that bigger speaker)...

Between the 3 levels for the ESR ones, $9, $20, $30 - is there a noticeable/real improvement in each of them?
I tend to get cracks in the "basic" ones every 3-4 months, so well worth the extra $20 per expensive phone, but in reality are they THAT much different?

I'm more concern about it working with cases since it installs so close to the edge cases could lift it up.

Now I’m curious too. I bought the middle one but can’t tell what difference there is with the more expensive one. Far as I can tell it’s slightly more impact resistant

Me too, I got the middle too - figure worth a few extra bucks but is there REALLY a difference :)

The $30 is marketed as being made by Corning, who I believe makes most of the mobile phone glass in the industry, including Gorilla Glass. It also shows as 10x the impact absorption, compared to 7x with the $20 one.

Who knows how this translated to actual real world use, though. :)

Is anyone considering not going screen protector being Ceramic Shield 2 and touted what is it 4x improved scratch resistance?
Haven’t used one for the past 3 devices but my current 16P has a few scratches which is a first. I’m not a heathen but I don’t baby my phone and have cracked quite a few glass protectors in the past (edges). It’s kind of annoying when you start spending a good amount replacing them when you could just replace the entire screen for not much more. I’m debating it for the Air though.

It looks like Torras only makes the GlassGo for the Air. From their website it looks like the difference is the origarmor has an AR coating and the GlassGo doesn’t. But since it’s a 2 pack vs 1 maybe there are other differences too. I’m ordering that one and the ESR to compare on my Air.

I want a good screen protector but part of me is going to be concerned it will affect effectiveness of Apples new anti reflective screen?

The Belkin protector sold in Apple stores that they install for you, is it $40 like the one they sell online? I remember last year the one they install for you wasn’t sold online but I can’t remember what I paid.
