Torras OrigArmor is piece of junk - within 3 days it's full of scratches from regular day to day use.. basically phone sits on desk during work and in my pocket if I am out and about. Awful anti scratch quality. Highly not recommended!

I own an iPhone 17 Pro and I am looking for a good screen protector. I have always used a privacy screen protector from (AliExpress) on my previous phone. I understand that the Torras OrigArmor does not offer this feature, while the Flolab NanoArmour does.

Torras:

Flolab:

I would like to ask for your recommendation and to know what the advantages and disadvantages are between these two screen protectors.

Thank you in advance.

Any screen protector the the Air I would just wait on right now. YouTube videos have already shown that the Air is way more scratch resistant than ever. ESR confirmed to me on Reddit they will be making a new version of their screen protector for the Air. That it's not just them having issues. They DM'd me and took my email address so they can let me know as soon as the new versions are done...

My wife had problems with the ESR on her Air. She returned it and got the Spigen AluminaCore and it’s flawless.

That is disappointing. No issues with my Torras screen protector (not OrigArmor).

I just put the phone into the Nomad rugged today and it fits perfect with no lifting. The Nomad rugged has a large lip around the screen and I was worried that it would peel the protector up.

I have a brand new sealed OrigArmor for the 16 Pro Max that I would sell cheap, if interested let me know?
I think the Paragon and the Rebel gen 7 will be the ultimate test.

I would be interested, but you should know I’m in Greece (postage, import fees….)

Just watch for peels even after a few days. I'm thinking all the Air screen protectors are hit or miss at this point. That's likely why Apple is not selling one, and it's completely MIA on Belkin's site.
For the first time I decided to just go screen protector-less and so far I really like it. Watching the YouTube videos I'm not overly concerned as it did very well in scratch tests and durability tests.

And the other day, I saw someone on the bus, that had an orange Pro and no case or screen protector, so I had to ask her if she was worried, and her response was amazing. She said she ain't going Apple any more money, the phone was meant to be used and seen and that is why she pays for AppleCare.

I mean she is right technically... I mean Apple doesn't even look for scratches on our screen when we trade-in.

Seems like screen protectors just take away from the screens this year, with the AR coating etc. As soon as I set mine up I will be going naked, just have to keep my OCD in check and enjoy it.

Yep. I had 2 and both had scratches right out of the box. Maybe it’s the AR costing but as good as they fit and look they do scratch easily. Still keeping the second one on until flolabs releases their 3d edge next month.

What is the difference betweem the regular torras and origarmour?

Also anyone who has the standard (non-origarmour) torras, does the black border slightly impede the screen like the 16 pro did?

The origarmor on the 16 pro max fit both my paragon and phonerebel cases without lifting.

3d curved edges hot bended glass on the origarmor, so it has more coverage, the regular Torras is 2.5d so a flat piece of glass but the edges are tapered to be curved, so less coverage. On the 16PM the regular torras did cut into the screen, not sure if that is fixed on the 17. Oh and origarmor has antiglare the regular doesn’t

I ordered mine direct, shipped from China and delivered in 7 days. Went on like a dream but it’s the very first thing I do when I receive a new device - pull factory film off and immediately apply screen protector.

If you hunt around likely a discount code to be had - I paid £22.16

I just put on the Benks matte screen protector from Amazon for $27. It is fantastic.

I come from matte film screen protectors since the iPhone 4. I haven’t been happy the last few years with them.

This is my first glass one and I am pleased.

But.. if she’s paying for AppleCare she’s still giving Apple more mon.. nevermind 😆

I wound up buying the torros as well. Only have had it on for today but so far so good. Definitely the nicest screen protector I’ve used. I felt good about the price after seeing their 365 day warranty

Good ol shellrus, where $30 of your $75 goes towards packaging 😂View attachment 2556481
Bit your bullet and ordered the same as backup in case my Origarmor dies. Shellrus didn’t have any discounts now, but after an email, they applied a 25% promo that they had during preorders.

I remember using Shellrus and iMOS for my previous phones, and it was so nice not having to worry about scratching it!

Mines sitting downstairs just waiting for the origarmor to get scratched up or if my itch picks up and I swap over to a 1tb 17pm. Lmk how it goes for you!

Went with the top of the range ESR 10x strength Corning screen protector on my blue Pro Max. Pull tab application system meant no traumas, only needed to use 1 of the 3 supplied and fitted in minutes. Fit is excellent and works fine with the Apple Techwoven case, sits below the protective case lip. Reflectivity supposed to be reduced compared to less expensive options...not particularly aware of intrusive reflections but you still, being glass, have a level of reflectivity.
Been on for a week now, phone is heavily used, shoved in pockets, rucksacks, already had it against keys and coins when it has had to be pocketed quickly and ESR Corning glass has zero scratches. I am pleasantly surprised, worth the premium price.
Oh and TechWoven case and blue Pro Max exposed plateau also mark free despite a week's heavy non too gentle use. Age of miracles not over...
