Does this year's in-store Belkin have anti-glare?
I'm curious about this too. If you go to the belkin website and use the filters it shows 2 of them that supposedly have anti glare but once you open the product, it doesn't mention anything about it in there so I'm going to say no.

The Belkin protector sold in Apple stores that they install for you, is it $40 like the one they sell online? I remember last year the one they install for you wasn’t sold online but I can’t remember what I paid.
I believe they are both $39.95.

Do we know if the 17 and the 17 Pro use the same screen protectors? Some listings on Amazon suggest so but others list separate versions.

The screen size is the same but the speaker opening is wider on the 17 Pro. So if you get a screen protector that either goes goes upward to cover, or dips down for the speaker cutout, you’ll want to go with a 17 Pro specific one. A lot of them are flat to sit under the speaker cutout, like the ESR ones, and would work for both 16 Pro and 17 pro.

Would the ESR work on both the 17 and 17 Pro? They both share a 6.3” screen.

According to Apple’s website the 17 and 17 Pro have the same listed screen size, resolution and DPI, so I would guess the ESR would work for both. The 17 appears to have the smaller speaker cutout like the 16 Pro though so something to keep in mind if you get a screen protector that covers or dips for the speaker cutout.

Perfect, that should do great as my brother has bought a 17 Pro and my Mum a 17 and they asked me to get them each a screen protector.
I bought the 17 PM and have a protector spare from my 16 PM pack but I’ve bought a new set of ESR for that too so will most likely not need the old 16 PM version.

I want a good screen protector but part of me is going to be concerned it will affect effectiveness of Apples new anti reflective screen?
It seems pretty likely it will be affected, especially with early reviews showing the AR being pretty mild in the first place.

false, that is a regular glass protector with a "sapphire grade coating"

on page details -
  • [Sapphire Coating for Ultimate Protection]: Made with the same premium glass used in your iPhone 17 Pro Max display and reinforced with a sapphire-grade coating, this screen protector delivers unmatched scratch resistance—outperforming standard tempered glass.

The one I linked is made out of actual lab grown sapphire, its scratch resistance is a lot higher than any of the regular glass ones with or without coating, it's actually kinda crazy. check it out

Do you have a link for the protector? The YouTube link isn’t working.

Man that scratch resistance is impressive. My 3 year old sapphire Apple Watch is still flawless and I put it through the wringer while surfing. Looks like it’s pretty brittle though. Most of the protectors I’ve replaced were due to edge chips/cracks. Wish they had a cheaper replacement policy. Even a 2nd one at 50% the total cost would be the price of a new screen!

Yeah that’s fair, if it makes you feel better my last sapphire one made it 8 months before I cracked it with a perfect drop lol never had edge chipping issues luckily

I had the Shellrus as well as iMOS on my older iPhones and it’s definitely the best I’ve used in terms of scratch-resistant. Never once have I had a single scratch on either of them, and I’m OCD about my phones.

I may shell out the money for the Shellrus again, but I just preordered the Sheath case, but if the case is not compatible, I may switch to a non-3D glass protector.

If they had an AR version I might be willing to pay that much.

Do you use a case? I don’t so I guess the edges are more exposed, or I’m just more careless than I think.

I always use leather case but I still want an edge to edge 3D edge case or dust just makes the gap between the case and the screen protector look messy

yeah I moved over from imos sapphire to shellers sapphire, at first I was hesitant but imos become to much of a problem to import, and the shellrus doesn't have their logo engraved into the glass lol. I find the shellrus to be universally compatible with most cases since they can't curve sapphire so it never goes to the edge. I just hope the black border doesn't cut into the screen this year. the 16 was terrible
