Shouldn't be able to claim it is X thin at the skinniest part of the phone with a huge bump. Going back to the droid x days....

Ugh. Dumb and disappointing, returning to Jony Ive's bankrupt well of one idea: "thinness." Oh yeah, he had one other idea: remove functionality.

Apple, yet again: You're not fooling anyone. The phone is as thick as its thickest point, so make the back flush with the camera lens and use the extra volume for battery.

Could you imagine how awesome the battery life would be if they just made the rest of the phone the same thickness as the camera bump?
Nailed it.

With the iPhone 17 Air (and even more so with the iPhone 17 Pro), I wonder with the relative thickness of the bump and that bump will now extends across the entire phone width: Does the impact the balance and center-of-gravity of these new phones?

Thick camera bump would be okay if it means a more versatile lens like zoom from wide angle to 5x or something like that.

With a thick camera bump, it will be a great if it is not having a single lens. Not having an ultra wide or a zoom lens will be a big disappointment.
