I just want phones with rounded sides back again, I don't care about the rest of the specs at this point.
Please no! I just hope the square sides stay around until I upgrade to whatever my next phone will be. Then you can have your round sides back again. I liked my iPhone 8 Plus, but I was pretty happy to get rid of the round sides.

The lightweight 17 will accompanied by Regular and Pro 17s with better battery life, so go for it! People who don't need the battery life, those who are steamed by size and weight of the current generations, and those who just want something different, get to have an option cater to them.
Agree. And meanwhile it's Apple's chance to experiment with how people like this idea and try out some new tech that lets them make it thinner. Maybe some of that tech will go into a foldable so that it's not too thick when folded.

As rumored, the phone seems inferior to the base iPhone 17 (aside from screen size, which is just a preference)

I’ll take a thinner lighter phone any day.

I think I this is likely to be the foldable phone anyway.

I’d love a thinner phone, but if they’re losing 25% of the volume you have to wonder what they’re jettisoning in order to achieve that. They can’t be shrinking *everything* down. I guess either they’re going to reduce the battery capacity or they’ve got a battery technology surprise in store for us

Yawn. I don’t want a phone that’s thin, I want one that is thick. Give me more battery and a form factor without a camera bump and I’d buy that in an instant.

So the Macbook Air M2 got the proper Air redesign (i.e. thinner), now an iPhone Air is in development. The iPad Air now desperately needs it, because the M4 iPP is the current Air and Pro in one.

If the battery can hold, then why not. I loved my iPhone 6 and I need a refresh. But the SE4 will probably be out by then and I want it.
