Slow news day for Mac Rumors? The screen protector is likely just the wrong way around.
It’s a slow news day of course! Did you notice how it’s only Majin Bu who is giving us further info on the iPhone 17 lineup? It’s like everyone else who in the past would give out leaks seems to have either got caught or lost interest in the iPhone 17.

First thing Jobs did was axe products for a streamline product catalogue...

#stevejobswouldnever

Jobs might have started with a few model, but the product line under him also exploded with sizes and feature differences.

iPod, iPod Classic, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch

Powerbook 12", Powerbook 15", Powerbook 17"

iBook 12", iBook 14"

MacBook Air 11", MacBook Air 13"

iMac G4 15", iMac G4 17", iMac G4 20"

iMac G5 17", iMac G5 20"

iMac C2D 17", iMac C2D 20", iMac C2D 24"

Apple seems to be going back to the iPhone X/8/8 Plus and iPhone XR/XS/XS Max days.

They are targeting two totally different people. The Pro is if you want max specs without compromise. The Air is if you want a screen almost the size as the Max but accept compromises to have a thin and light phone
I get what you're saying but that's not always two different people. In my case, it's the same person

Some might say the smaller screen and thicker/heavier design are compromises too. When it comes to design and engineering, there isn't such thing as being "without compromise".

If I didn’t know the foldable iPhone was on the way, I would absolutely get the 17 air.

That’s true but I would expect compromises on the camera. That’s going to upset some

Cook. Cook thinks branching off yet another model is what’s going to fix things. These guys are so out to lunch that it seems tech peaked 10 years ago and now it’s just an explosion of overblown pricing, empty promises, and baffling product releases.

First thing Jobs did was axe products for a streamline product catalogue. First thing Cook did was explode it back to how every sh*t-show of a tech company runs things. And what ran Apple into the ground back in the 90s.

5 new iPhones 17s, still selling the 8 different 16 models and still holding onto the 15 for maximum screw you customer status.

I think every year Apple sells some dozen different models if you include the prior year.

What a gong show. But keep revising the UI into glass while Siri rots and the best you can do with AI is a summary of texts from your buddies or an email. Oh, and make a generative image that looks worse than midjourney 1.0.
T Mobile is offering "new" iPhone 14's on trade in accounts today!

Maybe it's because the iPhone Air will have a wedge shaped design like the original MacBook Air with it's thicker side on the left where there's more depth for the camera 🥶

We are so back baby

(I don’t know how to previous articles lmao)

Am I stupid or isn’t a screen protector clear? How would you be able to tell any difference where a camera would be located unless the screen protector wasn’t clear, in which case why would you want it?

Are those Dynamic Islands smaller than we've had in the 14, 15 and 16?
It looks smaller to me, but I have a 14 Pro with a thicker bezel than the current 16 Pro so that may be the reason the DI looks smaller to me. There were rumors of a smaller DI for the 17 Pro/Pro Max several months ago which were replaced by rumors saying the 18 Pro/Pro Max will get the smaller DI instead. Who knows?!?

I'm done w/ heavy and thick iphones. Never liked my current 14pro so the Air is very intriguing. If I want a ultra-wide angle and other better specs I'll grab a real camera.

The screen protectors shown in the article's photo seem to be the matte version (like I've got on my iPhone), in which the area covering the selfie camera has to be clear for it to take clear photos. This is the first matte screen protector I've seen that extends the matte surface across the area above the Face ID camera, but when I looked into this today, I found that such screen protectors have been sold for some time, though some people find this can slightly degrade the reliability or speed of Face ID.

This is the camera module shifting to the left rumour. They do this in small incremental steps so the user wont notice that it will be placed to the far left at the end of the line.
