A unique blue finish will be the "main" color option of the all-new iPhone 17 Air, according to a rumor coming out of Asia.

The iPhone 13 Pro's "Sierra Blue" finish (2021).

According to the Weibo leaker known as "Fixed Focus Digital," blue is highly likely to be the "main color" of the iPhone 17 Air upon its launch later this year, placed at the forefront of Apple's marketing materials.

The leaker went on to explain that the iPhone 17 Air's blue finish is "different from all the blue colors released by Apple in the past." The finish is apparently "very light," and in low-light conditions, could be "easy to confuse with white."

The rumor bears a resemblance to the Apple's "Sierra Blue" finish, which was the standout color offered on the iPhone 13 Pro. Sierra Blue was the first "Pro" ‌iPhone‌ color option to use a lighter shade that was still saturated with color. Sierra Blue was a unique metallic, almost icy look, that could appear blue in some conditions, and light grey in others. Apple went on to further experiment with even paler pastel glass and aluminum colors with the iPhone 15 models.

Fixed Focus Digital has a mixed track record for Apple rumors. While the leaker has had some major wins, such as reporting that the fourth-generation iPhone SE would in fact be the "iPhone 16e" and the iPhone 16 Pro's Gold Titanium color option, other claims have been inaccurate. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to debut alongside the rest of the new iPhone lineup in the fall.

Extremely disappointed. Apple might call it a variant of 'blue' but in reality it will be white in most lighting conditions and maybe a very pale blue under certain lights.

Apple and colours don't mix. Somehow the iMac managed to get bright colours. That too on the M3 was toned down.

Hoping for good colours on the Pro model every year. However it will most likely never happen. Want a red colored Pro. Last time all the colours on the base iPhone models were great was on the XR. At least want to see some colour options on Pro devices(iPhones/iPads and MacBooks). Disappointing.

yeah sure...that sounds a lot like the sky blue color from the current MacBook Air.

This will definitely tempt me to buy it - I am sucker for anything in blue - bought the blue Apple Watch Series 6 almost immediately as soon as it was announced in a blue finish

Also bought the deep, dark blue finish on the 1st generation 15-inch MacBook (fingerprint-magnet version) when it was announced as well at launch, and then I returned it because I already had a 13-inch M1 MacBook Air and having 2 MacBook Airs didn't make sense.

So, if true, man, it is gonna be very hard for me to resist the temptation on tapping that Apple Pay button on launch day...

iPhone 13 Pro Sierra Blue was more silver with a little shade of blue.

Anyway, I love the iPhone 12 Purple and iPhone 13 Green.

It will be, without a doubt, the most different blue ever. People are saying it’s unlike any blue we’ve ever seen. Some say it’s even bluer than blue — and they’re right.

A big, beautiful, powerful blue. So blue, it’ll make other blues feel embarrassed. Frankly, it’s a tremendous blue.

Apple is very highly educated about blues. Very smart people. They know blues, they have the best blues. I’ve seen a lot of blues, believe me, but this — this is next-level blue.

They're making blues great again. And then they'll make it greater than ever before. And then — listen — they’ll be the greatest. Greater than Yves Klein. Greater than the ocean. Greater than sadness. It’s that good.

We love blue. Everybody loves blue. Even the haters and losers love this blue.

I've always had a case on my phone, so I don't really care what shade of dark or light it is. Nobody can see if it's 'rainbowdash blue' or 'distopian space grey'
