How it turned out is the phones now have 8GB. The reason is irrelevant, are you unhappy that Apple gave it 8GB?Classic Apple, they only stuck 8GB in because it NEEDED it for AI and look how that turned out.
So what. The phones have 8GB now.Otherwise it'd still have 6GB, and don't you dare tell me the mythical iOS only needs a little RAM, it's horrendous.
Upgrading every year is for chumps; however, upgrading after a couple of years is rewarding. We went from an XR -> 15Pro and XR -> 16Plus and both upgrade benefits have been really noticeable and enjoyable.Basically everyone I know, techie or not, is no longer enchanted by Apple, and has either moved to Android or simply sticks to whatever iPhone they have for ecosystem convenience reasons (myself included with my XR) - there’s basically no reason to buy a new one unless yours breaks down.
Yes. Then maybe they could recoup some of those billions burned on trying to make their own car. They’re Smartphones… neither Tim Cook nor anyone else can make them do much more than they already do. What do you want, for it to transform into a flying car?

and yet it's those same pennies saved that means people who bought 15's last year are hardware gated out of the new apple intelligence features.RAM is not what makes the iPhone expensive.
At Apple's scale and purchasing power, the difference in cost between 8GB and 12GB RAM is almost measured in pennies. At most, it's a very small, single-figure number of dollars.
If it were up to Apple we’d still be measuring memory in K…I remember when memory was measured in M, and before that K.
I always have to read these articles carefully and say yep, that really says G.
(and don’t make fun of your elders 🤭)
Surely you realize that phrasing it as 8,388,608k is just silly. If it were up to Apple we’d still be measuring memory in K…
I’d be glad to add another data point that validates what @Donkey Man said. There’s two out of you billion, and likely two that influence others’ tech purchases. I’m sure we can find plenty more of you want to play number games.Thank you for your data point. There's more than a billion other ones from active and repeat Apple customers to consider.
