By the holy Steve Apple: what is that?! They can't be serious if this is true.

Anyone else think this is a missed opportunity that the clear case is not made of (liquid) glass?

i actually dont mind the frosted white area. Looks better than the uggly white mag safe circle on current clear cases.

that means that mag safe magnets on the back of iphone will be larger and spread all over the back and will not be only the old circle that means it will be attached easier to accessorizes

I wouldn't necessarily agree, if you just have an array on the back, then firstly it will be harder to align lets say a wireless charger to the exact point it needs to be in, as it'll just be attracted to the general area on the back of the phone rather than just the magsafe array. Secondly, because most magsafe accessories just have that magsafe circle in them, having a whole slab of magnets on the back wont help it attach any better, as the accessory wont be able to take full advantage of all the magnets anyway.

This seems… off. That “iPhone 17 Pro / Clear case” text seems to be set not in SF Pro, but in Myriad Pro, Apple’s old corporate font. I’m putting my money on this being a very elaborate, but at the same time sloppy fake.

And I speak from experience here, having seen better and worse fakes. I accidentally bought a fake “Apple” clear case (the fonts in the manual and the case itself were variants of SF Pro, but, once again, were off, probably due to having been scanned or something) and a fake MagSafe charger (it was such a perfect fake that the only giveaway was the fact that it didn’t play Apple’s circular charging animation on iOS when latched on to the phone).

This fake is better for those who aren’t keen on typography, but terrible for those who are. This is not to say that Apple’s official case won’t ultimately look like this, but this isn’t a photo of one.

Look for Apple to charge a premium for what they'll surely market as the all-new "Clear White" color.

At this stage, it wouldn't surprise me if it's a legitmite product and the packaging design was in the hands of an intern.
Either way we'll see in a week's time.

haha looks like the rumour was spot on. Apple did really make something that ugly.

Yup. And I'm the *******asshat that still bought the phone, the case. And with that, I loose:

Apple leather case
Lighting dock
Visual on the silent ringer

And gain stuff I don't want:
Action Button
Camera Control
iOS26
Screwedup Photos app

Oh well. At least I'm upgrading from 256 to 512GB, so that's a win.
