Black had to be their best seller for the pro line. It’s crazy they omitted it this year. But given that the pro line this year is the ugliest thing Apple has ever made I guess it’s less an issue🤷🏻‍♂️

I upgrade every year. I’ll do it again this year but man it’s the first year I kinda don’t want to.

Since iPhone 11 Pro, there are at least 4 color variants. They could release a new color mid-cycle just like in iPhone 12 (purple) and iPhone 13 (green) and iPhone 13 Pro (alpine green).

I’d be shocked if it was black. That would really piss me off. It’s never a mid cycle black phone.

Yes if one is lost at sea or in space bright orange is great. Also on a busy construction jobsite.

A bright orange phone is also great if you work in a theatre or similar dark space and are forgetful where you put it down!

The iPhone 5's Slate Black was the best color available on any iPhone.

I dunno. It’s a toss up between the Slate Black 5 and Jet Black 7 for me. The latter scratched like crazy though.

I wonder if they will release a new color or two in the spring when things stabilize? I venture a guess that this is all bull crap but would be nice to get black and maybe a jungle green of some sort.

The green iPhone 13 and 13 Pros were nice. The Deep Purple 14 Pros, too. Some of the Product Reds as well.

I like the color options on the regular iPhone 17 and Air but I’m just not digging any of the 17 Pro colors.

Still holding onto my 13 mini green and watch 7 in green. I wish they put out a new dark green colour across the board.

The iPhone 5's Slate Black was the best color available on any iPhone. They did come close to it with the blue this year. Looks a little bluer than slate still.

The best ever for me was the Midnight Green they did for the 11 Pro.

But the Slate is a close second.

Also a big fan of the Space Grey glass they did for the X/XS.

The orange is ok- my step-dad will get one because he has a Whataburger restaurant franchise. The orange will nicely match. The orange will also match his 2024 Z06 orange mid engine Corvette.

The only reason I could think of why Apple didn't make a pro variation in black is to drive sales to the AIR.

Yep their goal this year is to direct everyone to that New Air. Next year they will go back to Space Black and Space Grey for the Pro’s

Just get the Dark Blue Color on the Pro and get a Clear case for it. Apple 🍎 is obviously trying to get people to buy the New Air at all costs, cause they invested a lot in it, makes sense. The Space Black and Space Grey will magically appear back in the Pro’s next year.

I can only assume a last minute production problem prevented them from having a black/dark grey colourway.

It’ll be back, probably next year I reckon!

This is most likely the answer. I hope this is the answer. But knowing Apple, it could still be trying to get people to upgrade next year by re-adding Black to the lineup.

I am not liking the design or the colors for the pro. I have a 15pm and think it’s a beautiful phone. Bottom lime is if you need the pro, then a case will solve the problem. I’m going for the white 17 this time.

The dark blue is pretty close to black. That’s the one I’m going for. Is the lack of black really a problem? I guess so.

I’m sure next year black will be back. I seriously doubt production issues. Apple has been making black aluminum phones forever. The dark blue is fine since I use leather case anyway. I’m only bothered because I like a screen framed in black. The dark blue will still be just barely visible around the edges. Not a big deal but as a videophile it’s a pet peeve for me.

Now that the Air has joined the lineup, Apple seems to be positioning it as the premium design model, while the Pro is shifting toward more of a tool-type iPhone. The Air is a bit like the Apple Watch (premium, design-focused), while the Pro is more like the Apple Watch Ultra (utility-focused). Its design looks more rugged and utilitarian, very much in line with the Watch Ultra’s approach.

I saved my pre-order for a Deep Blue 17 Pro Max. Looking forward to it. Looks really nice in videos and photos. I loved the orange initially, but I just can't do an orange phone. if it were more of a burnt orange, I may have gone that direction.

I still like my purple 14PM, but tempted to swap to an 17PM, after seeing the colours. The beautiful blue colour and the hot sexy orange. I don’t understand people not liking the colours.

I like deep sea blue for iPhone 17 Pro Max. It looks premium. I was excited with but in case of orange and silver the portion under the camera is to light making it feel like someone has mounted a meg safe extra battery. In case of blue it isn't that prominent
