Huh...I use a cover to protect my phone...We use / look at our own phones for hours per day, and not everyone wants to use a case to cover these flashy / ugly colors up.

Ok, now I am going to have to get one.
I remember our group talking to some engineers at a Camp Jeep event in Colorado years ago and we mentioned the horrible "blurple" and "citron" colors they used in 1997/98. They said that color research on test groups is done several years out and the ones that are more popular get to go-ahead for production even though it may be years down the road. What may have been popular then is now a WTF moment.
Now that is on vehicles but, perhaps, it is the same thing with phones as well as many other products.
That depends if your accommodations are provided by the legal system or notWould you wear an orange suit to a job interview, a wedding or in a courtroom?

I've ordered the orange 17PM because I've had the white 15PM & the two cases I use for it at times are both orange which I didn't even realize at the time of ordering, my logic was I wanted silver but hated how the glass looks white in the photos and I knew that would annoy me and I don't want a dark phone as I hate how they are not only finger print magnets but also chip when dropped/hard use something that happened with my iPhone 5. I can always apply a case or skin if I get bored of the color plus the amount of times I put my phone down on dark places/surfaces a bright color will allow me to find it again easily I hope.Beg to be different..........
Orange is way outside my comfort zone, but I'm getting the Pro in Orange!
I need something different than the same ole offerings.....
I go caseless all the time and my phone also goes in the same pocket always and rarely does other stuff go in it but there is no way its going to avoid micro abrasions on the screen with the amount of dust and dirt I'm surrounded by daily at work same as setting it down on hard surfaces no matter where I set it down at work there will be dust/dirt its everywhere no matter how much we clean, even at home surfaces still are not soft.Haha, noMy phones remain essentially pristine. Hope you enjoy the blue ... it looks pretty classy.
Regarding the condition of my devices: due to micro scratches that can happen to phones that are in cases (bits of debris/dust/etc getting between the case and the phone), my wife's phone will often see some of that wear and tear after a year while my phone generally looks brand new. I follow a few rules (which, admittedly, is almost a lifestyle that many people are not, understandably, interested in):
- My front left pocket is dedicated for my phone. Only two things go in that pocket: my phone and my hand. Nothing else, ever, not even paper receipts.
- I never set my phone down on hard surfaces
- I don't drop my phone
Yikes! Yeah, as a software engineer, I'm (hopefully) not surrounded by as much dust and dirt as you are on a daily basisI go caseless all the time and my phone also goes in the same pocket always and rarely does other stuff go in it but there is no way its going to avoid micro abrasions on the screen with the amount of dust and dirt I'm surrounded by daily at work same as setting it down on hard surfaces no matter where I set it down at work there will be dust/dirt its everywhere no matter how much we clean, even at home surfaces still are not soft.
I tend more to have my phone slide out my shorts pocket more than I drop it but even after 2 years its still virtually pristine other than a few scuffs on one corner where it slid from my pocket onto a gravel drive 2 days after launch.
The above reasons are why I tend to get silver or light colored devices as they don't show marks as much.
