Are you serious. You can't be serious. It looks like the Fiat Multipla of iPhones. Would you buy a Multipla and be like yeah, who cares, all I look at all day is the road and it's the same road on every car.
Yes. This is exactly what people who buy multipla said. Newsflash - other people have differing opinions on things.

Apple to busy working on software improvements
Where is the underscreen Face ID that Samsung has had for years
Where are the transistorized buttons,
Why are we going back to stainless steel frame instead of Titanium which is lighter and better
The list goes on….
The answer is simple, Steve Jobs once said ‘they’ll buy what we give them’ and now Tim Cook is following that idea
Going back to alu-mini-um, not stainless steel.

I never wear cases on my iPhones, maybe that's why I care about the design of the iPhone.
Every time I leave the case off my iphone, the iphone ends up taking a dive off a table or the edge of a bathtub. The vibrations make the iphone just get up and jump over the edge. But with a case on, the iphone does not "walk" across the table.
At the end of the day, Apple isn't aiming their design choices at the people on this board. Reality is, look every year at this board and you'll have people complaining about the design. Doesn't matter what Apple does.
Oh yeah. Sometimes I just have to shut my browser and rage-quit. Nobody is ever happy, it seems. This design is not ugly. But you're right, the design choice is not aimed at people coming to Mac Rumors.

They’re getting closer to completing the full circle;

I’m seriously considering getting a 16 ProMax to last a few years. I would rather have that over the 17.

If the 17 Pros do end up looking like these renders I’m gonna need to see them in the flesh before pulling the trigger. I am not liking the aluminium on the camera bump in particular, it looks cheap. The wide aluminium bezels around the glass cutout are also garish, though I can see why they’d do it like that so they’re in line with the camera bump.

Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models will feature a redesigned antenna system that wraps around the large rear camera bump on the devices, according to the latest rumor from a hit-or-miss leaker known as Majin Bu.

A render of the iPhone 17 Pro's alleged antenna system via @zellzoi

The leaker shared a render of the alleged new design in a post on X today, and they provided additional details in a corresponding blog post.

The plastic antenna lines on iPhones allow wireless radio signals to pass through the otherwise metal frame on the devices. With an antenna line wrapping around the rear camera bump, the iPhone 17 Pro models could have improved 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity compared to previous models, given that this antenna line would be longer and would not be covered by your hands when you are holding the device.

iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to use Qualcomm modems for cellular connectivity, before iPhone 18 Pro models reportedly switch to Apple's C2 modem. In addition, the iPhone 17 Pro models are rumored to feature an Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip.

The redesigned antenna system will result in fewer antenna lines on the iPhone 17 Pro frame, according to Majin Bu. One of the renders shared by the leaker shows that the device apparently lacks antenna lines on the top and bottom edges.

Majin Bu has a decidedly mixed track record as it relates to Apple rumors, with some of his leaks proving to be true, but others turning out to be complete misses. He was most recently accurate about iPadOS 26 adding a Mac-like menu bar to iPads.

Another leaker has cast doubt on this particular rumor, so keep your expectations in check. Fortunately, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series in a little less than a month from now, so official details are just around the corner.

Yeah, that’s it. Let’s take the antennas, coil them around some electronics so that they interfere with each other, become directional and beam RF into the user’s head while they talk on the phone..

And what about the NFC antenna? And let’s not forget the shadows that that misaligned flash will cause in closeups…

I didn’t wear a case on an iPhone since 2008 and the one that dropped the most was my 12 Mini, once on a carpet and once on laminate floor. Not a scratch, no dents, never had any damage on any of my iPhones in the last 17 years and years before that with dumbphones. I just don’t think about it anymore. And yet I still pay for AppleCare+ on my 14 Pro, but mainly just to extend the warranty. I guess I must be doing something right 😄

What is that glass "window" inset? I can stomach the camera bump, but that inset/seam where the glass goes is really ruining the entire thing for me.

It also has me 99% convinced this render is not accurate. There is no reason, even with these bands, that the back glass could not cover the entire back of the phone and around the bump like it does on the current design. Glass is transparent to RF, so why would they not cover these bands with the glass?

I'm liking the copper color in the mock up. Hopefully it looks closer to a true copper than the orange from the dummy models I've seen on YouTube. Although orange would be a fresh color for the standard iPhone model. Just no more of that sky blue color good god it's so over done.

Its the little things that count, now the problem is that i need to find a good telco that will works well with this revision.

Possible. With a larger antenna, the antenna lines on top and bottom will not be necessary. With a much bigger antenna, expecting signal coverage to be better.

They’re getting cloI’m on a 13PM & series 10 AW, I’ve got the urge to upgrade to more recent iPhone & perhaps AWU3 but when I look at this design it just makes me think incremental update with a hideous bulge design (even though I’d have it in a case). Also if AWU3 has a marginally smaller bezel update I’ll have lost my way with apple.

Heck I’m starting to look at galaxy flip (even though android gives me the 🤮).
Best save my $€£ and stick with my 13PM.
Apple has reached stagnation now. I wish there was an alternative to apple / android operating systems.

Just get the 16 PM update if you don’t want that “hideous” 17 design…I got a couple of 3 words for ya: “spatial pics/video”

Haha ppl would still complain that Apple is ripping off droid phones…ya right, more like inspired by the phones that helped birth them all in the first place…

16 pm is awesome. Best iPhone yet…titanium is butta! Spatial recording with great microphones = butta…large screen decent battery. Ugh it’s a truly awesome and formidable phone/ upgrade from previous gen’s…ppl want to say it’s an incremental upgrade smh

Oh and forget the haters, Apple AI is terrific. A true joy the stuff that is there.

When this comes out, Apple will reach the Apex of Rear Camera Design for the iPhone...can't wait!
