I have the 17 pro max (esim version) and the battery life is still terrible a week after setting it up. 5hr SOT and 74% battery usage.
Should I wait any longer or should I try and get it exchanged to see if it was just my phone?

I have a nano sim +esim version. I too felt the battery life is poor.
I force restarted the phone by volume up, down and power button, it looked ok the other day
Today it looks like it is draining fast again.
I am going to give it another day or two and then return if the battery life is not great

Don’t know if this is good or bad just wanted to give you another data point. But my Battery seems about what I expected.
