Unless they’re getting rid of the stupid notch altogether, they needn’t bother.
I would like to see a dynamic notch.
Climate change. Apparently the melting ice in the arctic and the rising water levels affect even the dynamic islands of CupertinoBut Apple says Dynamic Island is a feature, so why would they make it smaller?

I feel the same thing about camera control and the Touch BarI feel Dynamic Island and the Macbook Pro touch-bar have something in common
The end game is an Apple logo-shaped punch hole. With a few more years of advances and shrinking, Dynamic Island will turn into Shutter Island.
The Max has become the Pro Pro.Features like this need to be on both Pro models, not just the Max.
How about a Dynamic Mic?I would like to see a dynamic notch.
Oppo had a couple of models with popup camera, for example https://www.gsmarena.com/oppo_reno2_z-pictures-9809.php.I’d love a pinhole (Fantasy Island) like the galaxy as it’s so much less intrusive or put a physical bump at the top of the phone to put the camera/ sensor array leaving the screen untouched. I’ve seen mockups of this idea and wish I could find them. My guess is the camera would be too high and look down at the user.
Dynamic Island is a combination of a hardware necessity and a software element that facilitates multitasking on a small screen. The hardware element could go away entirely but the software aspect could remain while becoming more flexible. But Apple says Dynamic Island is a feature, so why would they make it smaller?

I really dislike the Dynamic Island. It's up there with 3D Touch IMO. I know some people liked 3D Touch, but I thought it was basically a solution looking for a problem. Same goes for Dynamic Island. I'm happy Apple ditched 3D Touch after a while.Dynamic Island is a combination of a hardware necessity and a software element that facilitates multitasking on a small screen. Not sure how you arrive at that conclusion. An iPhone is a lot thicker than a MacBook Air/Pro lid, which could very well be the issue.Unlikely. They could have added FaceID to MacBooks years ago with no problems, but have chosen not to do so.
