Serious question here...when it comes to hardware, how do any of you honestly get excited about new iPhones anymore? I have always been a fan of Apple's design aesthetic, for the most part. But, this new design looks like pure garbage.

It won’t, because the camera rings still stick out considerably. The bump being wider only reduces the wobbling a bit.

I had hoped the widening of the bump would reduce the rings to almost nothing because there is more space to place the inner optics horizontally. Seems a wasted opportunity if the bump exists purely as a new aesthetic. As of now we don't actually know if the rings are exactly the same as the 16 so we'll have to see.

well, if that guy with those sunglasses is an Apple employee ... might not have that job much longer ;)

these photos show way too little from what we allegedly "know" ...
If Apple let him test it out in public, that's on them though.

Allegedly!
Ah, I did not know that. Normally, they credit the usual human team. That this one didn’t so I thought…
Anyway… Tuesday!

I don’t think camera optics can really work that way with just a few millimeters of thickness to work with, relative to the size of the sensors and lenses.

Another iPhone 4 incident?
Another “Fox Puppy wants more internet engagement” incident. :)

Imagine it’s the weeks before an iPhone release and there’s a crapton of good quality dummy devices out there. How can you use that to drive a huge number of users to one of your posts?

Periscope lenses with horizontal optics are already being used in smartphones. Some lenses don't need it because the bump is tall enough but others like telephoto ones with a large optical zoom do.

Lmao, right. A short and fat iPhone that is itself a design compromise that no one wants, all so it can unfold to almost the size of the worst iPad. Which you can have for the low price of $2k, even though you can get a better iPhone and a better iPad for less, lmao. Never has there been a bigger sucker device.
FALSE! The iPhone Fold is the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone. This is the future of mobile phones.

This really feels like an intentionally staged and leaked pic by Apple. It's exactly the kind of thing they'd do to generate excitement about the iPhone launch without looking like they're trying to generate excitement about the launch. Bet on it.

I could see it. Why would you hold two phones out in front of you like that if you're trying to keep one hidden. Definitely drawing attention to yourself.

A/B photography of the same model. Likely will be used to compare the camera/optics of the 17 pro vs 16 pro.

A/B photography of a trash can in SF Union Square this late in the game (with release next month)?

It’s possible that the woman in the red shirt was the subject but awfully suspect that she’s not showing up in his sunglasses.

So…yes, possible they were taking random shots of a subject to test or last minute for PR and removed her so they wouldn’t give away test shots…

But more likely this was staged leaking to generate buzz for the phone. They may have removed subject from sunglass reflection for privacy purposes instead.
