Every year I have the internal debate between the Pro Max and Pro. I borrow my wife’s Pro for a few minutes and mess around on it, say to myself “I could work with that” and then I inevitably end up ordering the Pro Max. Every. Single. Time. 😆

My old ass eyes need the bigger screen. Or maybe I just need glasses? Either way, it’s hard to give up the battery capacity on the PM. I really do wish it wasn’t so heavy though.
I agree but the damn PM are getting bigger and too heavy.

I find this thread super interesting. There are clear pros and cons when debating these two models. Honestly I find both sizes have flaws (Pro is too narrow and the Max is too tall) and I feel the folding iPhone will solve everything by being super short when closed and super thin and light in-hand when opened.

For the one year where I am awaiting the folding iPhone, I will be going Pro.

Too bad they’re not releasing an iPhone 17 Plus. I’ll stick to my 15 plus.
Agree. We bought the 15 Plus for my mother-in-law for Christmas 2 years ago - it was the perfect phone for her. She really liked the larger size phone (she was coming from the iPhone X!) but absolutely didn't need any of the pro features... she continues to love it.

Yes, definitely a lot of subjectivity around it, even among MR enthusiasts here.

13PM, I notice its too big when sitting down & the silicon case grips like crazy in my jacket / jeans pocket causing clothing to go mental. Drives me nuts.
Air will lack power & bend, next years fold - no thanks.

I want to try & wait for a PM sized flip, flipped closed it’d be a perfect size in jeans pocket & also perfect screen size when open. That would give me a major 🦴 !

14 Pro Max to 17 Pro Max.

When the 14 came out, I had the 12 pro. I remember going back and forth with the 12 pro and pro max and went with the smaller of the two to "play it safe".

When the 14 pro max came out and I ordered it. I test drove both side by side with the same apps, wall paper, etc. just to be sure. The overall size / weight was a bit of a concern but the large screen was easier on the eyes and went with the pro max.

3 Years later, still a great choice and it works for my usage.

14 days til we can pre-purchase !

I'm going to need to head back to the 17 Pro Max. The Pro battery just doesn't cut it for me (which means the Air is out of the question too). I don't love the added weight and size, but my phone is just too important to me.

Battery life is the only reason I would consider a Max again but the size is really annoying imo. (for a woman with small hands even more so - shout out to all the ladys out there rocking a Max lol)
haha I am one of them! I think my hands are pretty average… maybe on the slightly small side of average, although I am otherwise fat and just large in general. The PM size is perfect for me though, I love it!

Will the pro have video out over usbc? I just recently starting using a rayneo smart glasses and I did not know the 16e didn’t support that

I have a 15 Pro now and always bought the regular Pro sized phones. Now, I can't wait to get the 17 Air. Looking forward to the thinner and lighter weight design.

I didn't think the thinness would make a big difference but after using my M4 iPad Pro, it feels so much better in the hand.
