I am planning to pre-order a 17PM using my Apple Card. I have my AT&T account locked using their Wireless Account Lock feature. Do you think I need to unlock it to pre-order or just before receiving the new phone to do the eSIM transfer?

I have a 15 Pro now and always bought the regular Pro sized phones. Now, I can't wait to get the 17 Air. Looking forward to the thinner and lighter weight design.

I didn't think the thinness would make a big difference but after using my M4 iPad Pro, it feels so much better in the hand.
My dominant concerns about the Air are the battery and the lack of a third camera.

For me, it's only the battery. I hope it can last as long as my 15 Pro, then I'm golden. As for the camera, I'll miss the telephoto a little but I don't use it that much. Maybe they'll have a huge surprise and the single camera is a tetraprism camera that supports 3x or 5x optical zoom!

Wouldn't that be swell. I *think* I could live with the battery, I think the C1 modem is going to wonders for stretching the battery life longer than the mAh suggests it may last. It was a noticeable impact on the 16e in the family. So, battery is only minor, but I use my telephoto lens on my 16PM frequently. So, I don't know how giving that up will do unless they have a trick up their sleeve on the single lens they're using.

That is my biggest concern also. With just client calls and daily usage my 16pm ends the day with about 20 percent battery. I don’t want to have to worry about charging it

My wife purcahsed the 17 Pro 256GB in silver which I thought was the best colour of the three. She very nearly got a bargain as Currys in the UK had the wrong prices for all iPhones and bizarrely had the Pro for £799. She bought it and had it confirmed, only for the mistake to be realised and they cancelled her order. She ended up getting it from John Lewis with 6% cashback as there were no deals for Apple.

Just cancelled my order for a 17 PM 256GB Silver. Looking back over my previous Pro phones I really don't use the cameras enough to justify the price difference.
A big reason for me buying the Pro's previously has been the 120Hz display but all 4 models have the full fat display this year so that reasons gone. My previous iPhone was a 15 Pro and I'm currently using an S25 Plus which is already a chonky phone and I have dropped it before due to the size and the PM phones are even bigger.
Will likely be heading to my local Apple Store on Friday and try to get a standard 256GB 17 if they have any for walk ins. Will be nice to have a 'normal' size phone plus saving £400 compared to buy the 17 Pro Max.

I've gone back and forth, but settled on the Pro.

For me, the trade offs aren't worth going for the Pro Max. This year's model is the heaviest ever iPhone, and that's before you add a case to it.

Yes, you get a better battery and a slightly bigger screen, but honestly the overall size and weight of the thing is just too much for day-to-day.

I tried the Pro Max, and I do like the larger screen, but damn using it for more than a few days it's just...work. You're juggling the thing to reach the top of the screen, it's heavy, feels like I'm carrying a book or something.

I can use the Pro one-handed, it's light (even with a case), and it fits into my pocket easily. 6.3" is still a big screen in smartphone terms, and only 0.6" less than the PM. I also go running with my phone a lot and the difference running with a Pro vs a Pro Max is surprisingly noticeable.

Plus, I'm definitely upgrading again next year as I don't like the colours this year. I might reconsider the Pro Max next year.

I preordered the 17 Pro Max to replace my 16 Pro Max but I’m feeling a little unsure. Before this I had the 15 Pro Max, and the 13 Pro and 12 Pro before. I like the size of the regular Pro a lot.

That’s just not true, 14 Pro Max was heavier.
Preordered the 17 Pro. I’ve never had a PM simply because it’s too big for my little womanly hands 😋 I feel like I’d drop the PM. Always had Pros.
Actually, I know two women who are below 5 feet tall and they both use Max size phones, 1 uses iPhone and the other Samsung. As someone over 6ft tall, I was somewhat inspired to get a Max phone because of them, if they can manage to use a Max phone with their small hands and pockets, I should be able to too.

The heavy weight of the 13 and 14 Pro Max was a detractor for me and partly why I waited until 15 Pro Max to get a Pro phone. Now the problem is I like the size of the regular Pro, but I'm used to the battery life of the Pro Max and I want to have longer battery life. It looks like on paper that the 17 Pro catches up to the battery life of the 16 Pro Max, but the 17 Pro Max still lasts the usual 5-6 hours longer. It feels like I don't really have a choice but to get the Pro Max.

16 Pro was pretty much the perfect size, but I went with 16 Pro Max for battery life. Now that the 17 Pro has the same battery life as the 16 Pro Max, I’m going with the smaller size.
