Would have been hilarious though to have the thinnest iPhone with the exception of a huge camera bar that doubles it in thickness.

eyerolling my way through years of apple presentations patting themselves on the back for "our BEST iphone....EVER. it's SO thin."

now they might go and give it a dummy thiccc dump truck

How about they just make the pro phones their only phones, and only have 1 in a 6.1” and another in a 6.9” size? That would make sense… Apple is about quality and cutting edge technology.

Because a large amount of people simply aren't going to pay the prices for a Pro phone, nor do they have any need for one. Companies don't want to buy such a pricy phone for their employees, parents don't want to buy such a phone for their kids..the list goes on and on.

The base iPhone (as of Q4) is the second best seller, at 21%, while the Pro is at 16%. The best seller is the Pro Max at 23%.

Why would it even matter? Does the bar have some sort of special feature?
If true, this does indicate that the camera bar will contain a new and undisclosed new feature. Maybe it’s an OLED TouchBar? 🤣

But seriously, it would be awesome if this was an OLED indicator of some kind.

From a marketing perspective I would imagine it makes sense. It still has the potential of a 90/120Hz refresh rate and other improvements. I don't mind the new Pro design, especially if it improves the cameras. I do imagine it will look better than the renders we've seen.

You kinda proved my point here. Nearly 1/4 of the sales go to the Pro Max. Nearly 40% go to pro phones together.
Apple still sells the previous year’s iPhone… That could be the “cheaper” model.

Then you're buying a phone with a year less support. No thank you. If anything, they should drop the Pro and the Plus, and just have the regular and Pro Max..and the SE.

I would be perfectly happy with the regular model, and it would have a bonus of being lighter...I have never liked the weight of the Pro and I don't care about phone cameras.

I know im in the minority, but I just want a folding iPhone. Apple releases a $3500 headset for early adopters, which I bought, Just make a expensive folding iPhone and ill be an early adopter.

I'm (very) mildly interested in a clamshell folding phone, so it would be smaller.. I don't need or want more screen.

...but I'm not paying what they would charge, even though I can easily afford it. Phones, from any company, aren't worth north of $1200, no matter what they do.
