iPhone 17 Pro Max (with SIM tray)

Whilst it's not terrible, I haven't been at all blown away by the battery life, and it seems noticeably worse than my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Literally, the percentage drops by a few percentage points every time I interact with the phone. Listened to Spotify for 25 minutes over 5G and Bose QC Ultimate Headphones and lost 5% instantly. Another example, iPhone in my pocket, screen is always off, check back 5 minutes later and it's lost 1%, another 5 minutes and another 1%. In the space of 1 hour, not doing anything at all demanding apart from 25 mins of Bluetooth headphones, I lose 10% of my battery. Worth noting, I have Always On Display switched off.

I have now even wiped the phone, reinstalled iOS 26 via my Mac, and set up the iPhone as new, so as not to restore a backup, and still the battery drains faster than I expected. I also have an Apple watch, which I am now suspicious is taking a disproportionate draw from the iPhone battery, but I will go out one day minus the watch to see if that makes a difference.

Looking at my Stats, have now had 37 minutes of screen time and used 10% of my battery - screen brightness about 1/3rd from the bottom, just checking emails and FB kind of activity.
