The main purpose for the change is because today, if you push on the bottom right corner while it’s laying down, it rocks. MKBHD pointed it out. Now, no rock when placed flat. Has to be. Ha.
Umm…. This has been the case since iPhone 6. Which is Reason #1 why I traded mine in for the iPhone SE (the real one, not the later wannabes).

iPhone-17-Pro-Blue-Feature-Tighter-Crop.jpg

Is anyone else seeing an iPhone turned sideways and strapped to the back of this iPhone?

Jump to 24MP for the front facing camera will be very nice. Hoping to see 10x optical zoom like images being made possible on the Pro Max due to the new 48MP telephoto lens. As for the Air/Slim iPhone, disappointing to see that there will be only one camera.

Really Apple.... you should really remove "the camera bump". And make the whole case thicker to have more room for a big battery - I want to be able to use my iPhone 1 or 2 weeks on one charge like my old Nokia could 20 years ago.

My current 13 mini has a thick and rugged Spigen case just to prevent the camera bump touching/hitting anything when I put it down on a desk or charging pad.

I don’t understand your logic. If you’re a photographer why don’t you buy a camera rather than a phone?
The better iPhones are great image capture tools for all, including for photographers. We photographers appreciate all kinds of image capture tools. Note that carrying around 5 pounds of Nikon camera and lenses, and worrying about ithe security of $5k+ worth of heavy gear is a PITA. An iPhone camera, however, securely lives in one's pocket 24/7, ready for use.

I’m probably the only one here who misses the days when we actually were surprised when something came out, and it was a genuine thrill.
Nah, I’m with you. I agree.. it’s hard to be surprised at these events. I refrained from these rumor articles for a while, after the insanity of the iPhone 4S, as much as I could.

That tear drop shape rumor had me excited… until it was found to be bogus. Sigh…. #NeverAgain… except it was less “Never” and more “Again”.

Since I’m less and less interested in each new iPhone (despite camera temptations), I’m also less and less excited for any of this stuff. Until that camera crap is flush, I ain’t interested. Insanely stupid design in 2025… and it was stupid in 2014 with the iPhone 6. And the moron sleep/side button directly across from the volume/shutter button.

I’ve been yelling about this for 11 years now. People laughed at me then. Now people get it.

The millions of caseless iPhone users prove every day that there is absolutely no need "to prevent the camera bump touching/hitting anything when I put it down on a desk or charging pad."

I really don't see the point in making thin phones and putting several huge warts on the back.. just make it the same thickness and put in a bigger battery. Hate sticking out cameras but they all do it !!
With the thickness of the Air that would seem to make a Pro like that possible without increased thickness but there apparently isn’t room for all the cameras in such thin space, so the Pro would have to be much thicker and heavier for more battery to work, and almost no one would want that.

I’m super excited! I’ve always wanted a solid silver iPhone. Some of the pictures show the glass as a darker shade, but I think Apple will make sure the glass looks smooth and seamless by matching the color and texture to the aluminum.

As for the Air, that’s going to be a big fat NO! Based on the reactions online, it’s safe to say that many people are feeling indifferent towards it.

Go check all the media/marketing photos of every iPhone since the 6.

They all have the stupid thing FACE DOWN on a surface… for this exact idiotic reason. Every movie, TV show, and PR piece. Anytime it’s not in a person’s hand, and is on a surface, (and not showing off what’s on the display of course), its face down. Which is more stupid, because …duh.. screen abrasions.

Prior to the iPhone 6, the phone was face up.

Oh sure you can argue very decent reasons why (“the rear literally says ‘iphone’”, “the rear is more distinct”, “blank screens aren’t very inviting”)… yeah valid points, but that’s not the WHY. Because Apple knows showing it face up would reveal the lack of symmetry and it’d be at an angle or wobbly in a video. They know this. Marketing isn’t stupid. Their industrial designers are, at minimum, lazy and/or lacking proper management.

I’m mad about it because Apple can do better, and they are held to higher standards, just like Steve held people to higher standards. This design is not a high standard. It’s elementary and lazy.

They can and should do better.

Do you have a solution that doesn't a) make the camera module thinner and thus produce poorer quality images, or b) make the phone body thicker and thus much heavier? Because neither of those outcomes seem worth the tradeoff just so the thing won't wobble slightly on a table. And you can already choose outcome b) yourself just by getting a thick case or a MagSafe battery...
