Has graphics performance really been an issue for the last 3 versions of the iPhone? What game, designed for iPhone, suffers on an iPhone because the graphics is missing a core? I cannot fathom any other use of an iPhone where graphics is relevant other than playing a game. That music I listened to, the photograph I took, that app for my bank, the phone call I took all seemed to work fine.
Existing games : none.

But later games that push harder in the future will maybe show a difference.

Both CPU/GPU have been quite competent for some time. So no to "Has graphics performance really been an issue?" However both CPU/GPU can and will improve over time, and OS/apps designers will take advantage of the improvements.

Your A19 Pro multicore score is too low. It is often over 10000. I’ve also see that on my 17 Pro Max, when I’ve tested under iOS 26.3.
I’ve just done it on my 17 Pro Max…

I still think the normal iPhone 17 is the best iPhone out right now.

100% all things considered the 17 is the best phone period if one just wants a reliable smartphone and not to use it as a pocket computer.

If the 17e had a 90Hz display it would be a complete no brainer. I seem to be the only one majorly bothered by low refresh rate displays anymore though. I can notice the difference but it seems no one else can.

For children, elderly, and corporate buyers I actually really like the 17e though. For anyone who doesn't want the better display the internals are surprisingly good. The lack of the extra GPU core means nothing on this 60Hz panel.

Apple should stop using the word budget because they don’t have anything budget friendly and that’s the truth.

Samsung should be taking notes with their “budget” 500-600€ phones that will overheat if you open some p2w trashcan like Clash of Clans😂

“e” series proves to be a good budget tier for people with slightly limited budget. But I cannot call it “budget” like many tech bloggers do, it is still a phone with high price, I.e. it costs just like regular iPhones used to, but still packs more power than older flagships.

I am not at all fan of all this “iPhone zoo” where we have so many iPhone versions, but on the other hand if company is OK and customers are OK, what can I say… So be it I guess. Hope they will continue polishing iOS, it seems that after 26.3 many glitches have disappeared.

In Android world manufacturers will often sell old tech in cheaper smartphones: a new phone that has processing power of 4 years old flagship🤦‍♂️ Apple did it right way - new processor, medium RAM, and even enough base storage for most user

100%. Great phone for kids/senior/enterprises and those who don’t know/care about 120hz and advanced camera featureset. For my grandma coming from SE2 it’s perfect because it nails the basics for her : ease of use, long battery, long software support, 256gb and sub 700 price

For me no 120hz is a bummer exactly like it was between standard and pro model for 13/14/15/15 series. I see instantly the difference. If I would not care about that I could even consider 17e for myself.

It would be really interesting to hear how the 17e (or indeed to 17) compares with the Pixel 10a. On the surface, the 10a offer vastly better hardware ... but of course runs Android. But a positive consequences of Android/10a is the camera performance and SW capabilities.

Nice phone especially in black. Its essentially like an iPhone Mini plus i guess depending how you look at it.

I personally have a 17 Pro Max. I think the biggest issue for Apple now is having too many phones in their lineup.

Too much choice often leads to no purchase at all.

If you aren't a serious photographer, 17e is a great value. I also want to say that it's dumb how the 17 is $30 more to buy it unlocked. The 17e is the same $599 whether locked or not.

look our chip is so much faster, but our OS is designed for 5 year old phones so you will not notice any real difference
