256gb, MagSafe, Dynamic Island and A19 ! It looks like a very good phone ! It doesn’t have 120hz or the ultra wide camera but honestly I can easily live without it !

What do you guys think about this phone coming soon?
I think its a great concept and I might upgrade from the 16e to the 17e.

With skyrocketing prices for flash storage I’d say there is zero chance that the base 17e comes with 256 gb of storage. It will be 128 gb. Jury is still out on whether it will have Dynamic Island or will stick with the notch.

It’s just like Apple to still stick with the same 128GB starting storage in 2026 for the iPhone 17e that they introduced ages ago starting with the iPhone 13. If they do, I’m just not buying it.

I doubt the base 17e model will get 256GB of storage, but other than that it will be a great phone at a decent price.

Assuming $599 for the 17e, the 17 is 33% more expensive. That's significant. I'm betting storage will be 256gb, but would be ok with 128gb.

To me, the 17e is the best value. If I didn't already own a 16e, without question would go for the 17e and apply the savings to a future "e" generation.

If my iPhone 13 mini would die and Liquid Glass didn’t exist, I’d probably go for it. The hardware is nice, just a little too large, and can’t run iOS 18.

I'm likely going to get one. Still, I think in 2026 that every iPhone should have a 120Hz screen. Even the Pixel A-series have it.

Need a better way to differentiate the different tiers. 60Hz in a $600 phone seems ridiculous in 2026.
I agree, but they need to add clarity between the models. If they give the 17e a 120hz screen (which they will not, probably due to supply issues. source: the reason why the base models only got 120hz now is because they did not have enough 120hz screens to put on the base model) then a LOT more people would buy it and nobody would buy the base model.

out of idle curiosity , why did I need 256 GB of storage, my se2020 only uses 36 out of the 64 GB it has . no cloud storage either what am I missing here (geez on my desktop I only use 175 of the 500 GB that more or less divided by system usage and game cam videos/phographs that I need to sort through)

More megapixels on the camera and 4k filming demands higher storage and for a company phone a full microsoft suite of apps demands storage for it to be a working phone with full office suite. I find myself deleting photos and film clips on the SE2020 due to 64GB storage. For myself I think the 17e have a need 128GB minimum now with bigger demands. But this is all individual use cases. 👍

It would be perfect if it had no camera bump at all. Also no need for 256GB. 64GB is enough for normal use. I have 33GB of 64GB used on my iPhone.
64 isn’t enough for normal use anymore. My mom has my old 11 Pro with 64GB and access to my 2TB iCloud and still here storage is almost full. My personal storage is 90GB full, with 10GB photos for some reason and 15GB downloaded music.
Considering iOS 26 itself is between 15-20GB big, I’d say it’s more than a courtesy from Apple to not sell 64GB iPhones anymore…

For me its enough and I would like e series to have less ”stuff” to drive up the price. If one needs more storage one can buy other models. E is for afforfable base base model.

I don’t think the 17e will be a bad phone I used the se2 for two years and I liked it but as I got older I decided to go with the 6.1 inch and have enjoyed it I got the 16e after my 14’s battery went to heck and I like my 16e MagSafe was never a issue because I never used it before so the 16e is a good phone I own it out right and upgrade to a to iPhone if I want but it will probably be a 18 base model because I do miss the ultra wide lens
