"low price point" It costs almost as the base model now. ;);)
I think the strategy is to bring the e-Series to the Price what the current base Models cost and Shift the base and pro to an even higher Price.
And for the crazy early adopters: pay 3k for a creased display

Was temped by the 16e before settling on a 16 pro (still being shipped).

Magsafe and camera are the two reasons I chose pro. 7.5w wireless charging is not appealing to me.

loss of 0.5 wide photos, not appealing. Dynamic Island - meh, who cares.

But I got a sealed Pro for $649 and the 16e was going for about $500 on ebay...worth the upgrades.
Lidar, wide camera, spatial videos, MagSafe 15w, DI, and 120Hz screen. Yep, I'd pay $150 for that.

Apple: "...with an all-new design we think you're going to love"

New design = Corner radius will be modified by 2mm
Haha - it's a bad situation for any phone maker to be in, since the things are simple rectangular slabs with few buttons that run apps (which is where the value is). Reinventing them every time is difficult.

I don't know. They would increase the iphone 17 base price if that were the case and apparently they won't.

Also its the same phone each release.

The foldable one, that's gonna be "different" specially on the price $$ a kidney.

Just give me 2-3 day battery life and the ability to make phone calls (do they still do that)?

To be honest, any phone will do that if you don't use it much.

I have a SE (2022) that i use as a burner phone that sits in the drawer for some 2fa and other stuff; and i charge it maybe twice a week tops. Granted i might only use it for a couple calls during that week; but stretching it out to 2-3 days if you do use calls but don't use apps should be doable.

What if they did an A19e chip? I'm talking about a chip built for low-power consumption, efficiency, and less on high end performance.

I realize the benefit of just using a binned chip from a cost/business standpoint, but they could use these "e" series chips for other applications like Apple TV, Studio Displays, HomePod mini, etc.
