In what way? A folding phone that few will likely buy, with an ugly crease in the screen, just to say “look we are doing something”? Remember all the people claiming they wanted an iPhone mini, but then didn’t actually buy one?
Ironically, you are replying to someone who is a 13 mini user and who’s refused to upgrade to any bigger phone.

The last time they did so was in 2017. The Dynamic Island in 2022 was just a minor update.
And we’ve had literally the same design rehashed since 2020. They haven’t even bothered with the new design language. We’ve had 3G/3GS, 4/4S, 5/5S/SE, 6-8, X/Xs, XR/11, 12-16 and what looks like 17 will continue the same design language. They’ve sat on the same thing for 5 years and going into the 6th now. It’s embarrassing for a company that once claimed to Think Different.

Funny I don’t have that issue.

Meanwhile I’ve used the 15 Pro Max and 16 Pro Max as secondary video recorders (along with my Nikon Z9) and they absolutely obliterate Pixel devices. And I don’t have to upload to Google services so their Video Boost can process the video my iPhones can do on-device.

Pixel processors are trash. Yet people still make excuses that they’re “good enough”. Wait until you’ve had the phone 5 years running the latest version of Android slow as molasses.
No one keeps phones for 5 years because after 3 the battery is good until just after breakfast basically.

The tensor is surely good enough. And they compensate the shortcomings with real software. You don’t need 27 petaflops to run buggy software and generate pathetic emojis on the go….

But I guess this is just my opinion. I feel more and more that it’s time to drop the Apple ecosystem. Jobs isn’t coming back to save the ship again and the current management is just focusing on childish stuff and stock price. A bitter end for Apple.

Was waiting for MagSafe. Time to move. Been a fun ride since 2007 Apple. Tried my usual test today “how long will it take me to get to work” to Siri / Gemini and Apple still can’t figure it out. I’m beyond done with Apples software on iPhone. It feels 7 years behind Android. €720 trade in on my iPhone 16 pro also. Love Apple, but iPhone is at this stage hard to justify the premium when you compare it to the feature set of Pixel 10.

That makes it heavier. These are your options
  1. thin and flat back with worse cameras
  2. flat back and thick and heavy
  3. flat back and thick and not so heavy, but with quite a bit of empty space in the phone.
  4. the status quo: camera bumps
is 3 a better option than 4?

I am okay with heavier and better battery life. You can also make phones out of plastic and make them light. Options are nice.

but a pro max already fits in your pocket. it makes no sense to me to fold it down. doesn't add any benefit from what I can see.
Technically a pro max “might” fit in a pocket but is massive and uncomfortable. In shorts it’s likely to fall out. Half the size would without doubt fit better hence my point.

Tell that to the countless people (including here on MacRumors) who praised Google for finally upping Android support to 7 years.

“Good enough”. Imagine if CPU and GPU manufacturers took the “it’s good enough” approach all these years and simply stopped making faster CPUs/GPUs.

My iPhone has numerous features that make use of the processor power. Features Pixel devices simply are incapable of doing.

It gets even worse on tablets where Android manufacturers think slapping a phone processor into a large-screen device is acceptable.

I don't have to imagine. Intel took that approach for like a decade, and Nvidia is taking that approach right now.

The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of consumers do not need super high-performance chips. You don't need 3 teraflops of GPU power or 40 of NPU compute to scroll tiktok.

Once again, I'm very tempted by Google's trade-in offers for my iPhone 13 mini. 🤔
They're offering £421 towards a P10 pro (or £371 for standard), plus £100 in Google Store credit (which I guess I could use for earbuds and a case).

Will wait until after Apple announce the 17 models to pull the trigger, but they'll really have to pull off some spectacular surprise for me to reconsider.

I wear shorts all the time to the gym. owned pro max phones for 5+ years. zero issues

What are you talking about about. You self admit to enjoy "pissing off your friends"

That makes you a bad "friend"

1. we pull pranks/piss each other off. maybe you enjoy a soft relationship with your friends and have to tiptoe around each other to avoid potentially offending someone but we create hilarious memories in my circle of friends.

2. I attempted to get everyone on telegram but they wanted to see what RCS on iOS is all about. I'm making RCS a nightmare so we can move on to something better.

Can you state one of those features? Just one please
