Considering this is Apple‘s half century anniversary, they better have something special for us.
I wouldn’t know what but it would also be the perfect opportunity for One More Thing…
Guess that’s gonna be the Fold?

The variable aperture will be most useful for shooting video. It will allow stopping down to reduce or eliminate the need for ND filters for a true run and gun video setup for people to shoot high quality video at the correct shutter speed for cinematic motion blur. Would be a big deal for people that use the device for filming.

if Apple actually places the camera in the top left corner, I'm going to be really optimistic for the future of the iPhone. I think they will simply bc all the other Androids switched to the middle dot so it will stand out* even though its been done before. Plus like someone mentioned, they added the center stage. I'm so fkn excited, my 15 PM getting boring 😂😂

The iPhone 18 appears to be released mainly for the sake of introducing a new model, following a pattern Apple has traditionally practiced, but without any truly significant changes. Since Steve Jobs’ passing, Apple seems to have slowed in terms of innovation, largely building on ideas he originally introduced rather than delivering bold new ones.

While Apple continues to refine existing products, many of its recent updates feel incremental rather than groundbreaking. Even collaborations or inspirations drawn from competitors such as Samsung can give the impression that Apple is no longer setting the direction of innovation, but instead following trends. Despite having a large and talented workforce, the company appears to be prioritizing iteration over truly original ideas.

omg, don't take away the sliding camera control action. that's actually one of the few new features I like.

For the love of God, Apple, please don’t make a poo brown iPhone. Purple is not a great color choice either. And if the 2nm chip is so power efficient, why do we need a bigger battery?

Under-screen FaceID, sure. This site has been claiming TouchID and FaceID every single year since 2021. It's been half a decade that the claims have been made that IT'S COMING THIS YEAR. And then every time it hasn't happened.

If you want to watch a truly amazing documentary on microchip fabrication, and I bring this up because the upcoming iPhone is moving to even tinier transistors, watch this:

While the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are not expected to launch for another eight months, there are already plenty of rumors about the devices.

  3. Front camera in top-left corner of the screen
  4. Variable aperture for at least one rear camera
  5. A20 Pro chip manufactured with TSMC's 2nm process and new packaging technology

I'm only interested in the colors, assuming the purple is similar to the 12's shade.

Flash poll: Would under screen FaceID equate to a super cycle upgrade like iPhone 6 Plus? What were the other super cycle upgrades, 5G?

I'll probably buy it. I almost went for the 17PM from my 14PM but decided against it. 4 years is long enough. Probably will regret it when the 20th anniversary one comes out with a built in taser like in the Brosman Bond movie but oh well.

For the first time ever, they can keep it. Since iPhone 3G, I've been updating every year; enough is enough. It's hard not to impress gadget junky, but it got really, really boring.
